The days passed quickly and Josephine continued to sell two more houses when she received a call from an unknown number. A deep and refined voice asked for her name. "It's Josephine Barnes but who do I have the pleasure of talking to?", she managed to say a little dumbfounded. Who was this man and how did he manage to get her telephone number? She heard a small laugh: "Oh please excuse my straight forward behavior. My name is Benjamin Ingley and the estate agency told me you would be of help in finding a home for me."
Josephine automatically shifted to work mode and exchanged some basic information with him. They agreed to meet the next week to discuss it further. When they hung up Josephine felt it was quite sad that the call had been so short. This man seemed to be more pleasant than many others she knew. Looking forward to meeting him in person the next week she sent a text to Emma asking for her whereabouts.

"So how was your day lovely sister?", Emma inquired as soon as she set her eyes on Josephine. Still thinking about that phone call she began to blush a light shade of pink but decided not to tell Emma about it just yet. She smiled: "Great, so far I'm absolutely loving my job I must admit. How did it go for you today?" Emma rolled her eyes: "Well, besides this one never ending economics lecture with that professor that makes you memorize everything but doesn't even teach you something valuable.", she smiled "the rest of the day went surprisingly good though. I enjoyed statistics, it's not even that hard. Oh, and by the way Clara says hi." The girls cozied up in their respective beds and Emma couldn't stop herself from yawning. Almost like a signal, Josephine heaved over her night table to reach the light switch and suddenly, they were covered in blackness. Protected by the dark Emma started to say: "Sometimes I'm scared. Scared to fail my classes, to fail at life. It's just a feeling and that's why I try to work even harder to prove myself. But what if that's not enough?" Only to Josephine would Emma reveal her truest and most secret thoughts like that, because she would accept it. Not always understanding each other, but definitely supporting the other whenever facing an obstacle. Instead of offering useless words, Josephine stretched out her hand to bridge the space between their two beds and was met by Emma's hand who was thankful for that small but significant touch. The warmth radiated through Emma's hand into the rest of her body and soon she could relax enough to fall into a deep and dreamless slumber.
