❝ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴏꜰꜰᴇᴇ ꜱʜᴏᴘ ❞

the painful death of jordan besson reminded the town that anyone who attempted to unearth the the the death of gabriela would meet the same fate as her. the town slowly stopped talking about the murder.

corbyn continued to work on the case secretly. he would not sleep all night studying the pictures of his brother's dead body. he would cry, trying to fall asleep, but sleep denied to put him at ease. he would go to school every morning, observing every student with close detail. he would sit in the library after school making conclusions, pretending to study.

in the next few weeks he noticed that daniel had refused to talk to anyone but jack. daniel would bring chocolates and flowers for jack, hoping that he would feel better. daniel would often sit in the corner and cry as he watched jack's smile fade away as though he was responsible for what was happening.

zachary, jack and christina met everyday after school at a local coffee shop. although the two boys never attempted to begin a conversation, after the revelation that gabriela and ryan were both murdered the two drew closer. they would meet secretly along with christina to discuss the case.

although zachary denied to share his feeling with anyone, after his brother's death, he did talk to jack, pouring his heart open. jack would listen patiently, understand exactly what the boy felt. zachary would often break into tears, but jack would hug the younger boy as he moved his hands down his back soothingly.

christina would often excuse herself leaving the two boys alone to connect. this evening, christina decided to work in the library leaving the two broken boys alone, to fix each other. she sat in a small corner working on her history assignment. as she was collecting the facts and writing them down, she heard a small muffled voice. following the sound, she found a blonde boy hugging his book as tears rolled down his eyes.

christina sat down on her knees, "excuse me", she spoke softly. corbyn was tired of hiding his emotions. the entire town empathized with zachary and jack, but everyone forgot that he had lost his best friend and his brother too. his own best friend daniel, didn't see his pain. he was busy buying flowers for jack, that he forgot that his best friend lost some one too. corbyn let the tears fall on the book as he began talking.

christina patiently listened to the boy holding his hands. although corbyn and christina have been in the same class since they were nine, they really never talked to each other. the both of them definitely had feelings for each other, and every one except the two knew it. corbyn rested his shoulder on christina's shoulder as he closed his eyes, "i don't want to be a fucking tragedy"
