2. The Invite

Y/N's POV

I jolted awake. I had never had nightmares like these before. Maybe this was what Harry experienced every night. It wasn't pleasant.

I glanced over to my clock, it wasn't that early so I decided to get out of bed, brush my teeth, get change and go downstairs. When I got down, I was surprised to see my parents sitting with two adults and a girl around my age.

"Ah, good morning Y/N." my dad smiled. "These are my old school friends and their daughter, I suspect you may be familiar with them."

I smiled, the girl was Tabitha Wayne. She had visited me briefly when I was in the Hospital Wing last year. I took this opportunity to thank her father for looking after me when I was in St Mungos.

"Thank you Mr Wayne for helping heal my injuries." I said politely to Tabitha's dad. He had brown hair like Tabitha but his eyes were a brown colour.

"Such a polite young man." chuckled Mr Wayne. "Call me David."

"Thank you very much David." I smiled as my parents looked between the two of us. When they found out about Sirius' attack on me, they were both worried and confused to why Sirius, my real father, would attack me. Obviously the school, or Dumbledore, refrained from telling my parents about the attack. The scars were still there but they must've just assumed I was up to some mischief at school. However, when they found out I was bombarded with questions. I told them that Sirius wasn't a bad man and explained to them how me and the others saved him from his fate.

Since I had got back from Hogwarts, I had been pestering my parents to tell me everything about their time at Hogwarts. The fact that my dad was part of the Marauders was fascinating. I also told them about my Patronus and my dad was immensely proud that my Patronus took the form of his Animagus.

When my mum found out I had the Marauders Map, she insisted that I hand it in but my dad disagreed. He knew Issac had the map, although Issac didn't know my dad was Stripes. When Issac found out about that Stripes was our dad, he was shocked, but immediately asked our dad for all the help possible to pull the best pranks.

After greeting Tabitha's parents, I waved at Tabitha. She waved shyly back. She was in the year below me and I had run into her several times near the end of my third year. She always followed around the same group of girls who kept on saying hi to me, not that it was a bad thing.

Just then, my owl Grey appeared at the window, accompanied with a small owl that I had never seen before. There were two envelopes both addressed to me, I took them and gave Grey and the other owl a treat before going back to my room to read them.

The first one was from Ron, it read:

Hey Y/N! How's your summer going?
My dad got us tickets for the Quidditch World Cup and said I could invite you, Harry and Hermione. We're going to pick Harry up tomorrow from the Muggles so good luck to us. Hermione will be here at the Burrow later and if you're allowed, you can come later. Issac is already here and I think he's going as well so you'll probably be allowed to go. My mum says that we can take you to the platform as well cause she knows that your parents have something to do. Apparently something is going on a Hogwarts this year but they won't say anything about it.

Oh, this owl that delivered the letter is Pig. My new owl. You know, the one I was given at the end of the year.

I chuckled at Ron's letter, I made a mental note to ask my parents once I had read the second letter which was from Hermione:

Dear Y/N,
Thank you for your letter, I've been on holiday with my parents and it has been absolutely amazing! We got back a couple of days ago. I'm not sure if you've heard but Ron's got us tickets to the Quidditch World Cup. I'm going, it will be very interesting to watch and I'm sure there will be some nice souvenirs.

I hope you can come and hope I see you soon.

I read the letter and smiled, I then rushed back downstairs where my parents and Tabitha's parents were still talking. Tabitha was sat there awkwardly that I felt bad for her. I told my parents about the Quidditch World Cup and they let me go. They also told me that Issac was going as well since he was already at the Burrow, spending time with the twins. I thanked my parents and quickly rushed back upstairs to finish packing my trunk. I had got all the required books for my fourth year already.

Once I was finished and after spending some time with Tabitha to save her from the awkwardness of just listening to our parents talk.

Now I was ready to leave, the Waynes had gone home so it was just me and my parents.

"Stay safe dear, don't get into anymore trouble." my mum said.

"No promises." I grinned, causing my mum to smile.

"We're going to be sending you a few things soon." my dad said.

"Is something happening at Hogwarts?" I asked curiously.

My parents refused to answer my question so I just got the floo powder and made my way to the Burrow.

"THE BURROW!"

A flash of lights appeared in my face before I appeared in the Weasley's fireplace. Mrs Weasley greeted me with a massive hug and I then I learnt that Issac, Fred, George, Ron and Mr Weasley had gone to collect Harry. Mrs Weasley also told me that Ginny and Hermione were in Ginny's room so I decided to sneak up and scare them.

When I arrived outside Ginny's room, I could overhear the two girls talking inside.

"Did you know Y/N is coming?" asked Ginny's voice.

"Yeah, I heard from Ron." Hermione replied.

"Are you two dating yet then?"

"No."

"Well you should, he likes you. Plus, didn't you two kiss like twice last year?"

"U-uh, well. I suppose. I don't know. It's confusing."

"Everyone's waiting for you two to date you know."

"Shut up Ginny!"

I chuckled at them, I was pretty sure my cheeks were slightly red hearing them talk about me. I decided to scare them by bursting into Ginny's room, causing them both to scream.

"Surprise!" I exclaimed.

An angry-looking Ginny rushed up looking like she was going to hit me, instead she hugged me. Hermione was still on the spare bed, blushing. She was probably thinking that I heard her and Ginny talk about me.

Once I finished hugging Ginny, I walked over to Hermione and pulled her into a hug.

"I missed you 'Mione."
