QUANAH POVMukwooru, the medicine man, did in fact come to my teepee today, just as Henaw warned. Now he is sitting across from me in my teepee.
"Quanah," The man clears his throat.
"Yes?"
"I have had a vision."
"Oh?" I reply.
"Yes. It concerns you." He nods.
"I see."
"You must marry the white woman." He says, quite blunt. I gasp.
"Marry? The white woman?"
"Yes. Do you doubt Mukwooru?"
"Never, sir." I say quickly. "But, will, or does, she love me?"
He makes a circle with his hands before answering me, as if contacting the spirits. Then he gets up and goes to the teepee flap. He turns to me.
"Yes."
Then he is gone.
