Back in the common room, I play a game of wizard's chess with Willow. She doesn't say a word to me the whole afternoon and I decide that we'll pause the game until later and instead I sit and read by the fire.
The voice I heard last night and today echoes in my head over and over. I think about how we were to brew a potion without being noticed and I think how I'll be able to do it without Willow's help. I pick up my charms book and start looking at spells instead.
Every now and then Willow sits beside me and helps me with a few questions but she still can't quite make a conversation. I carry on with my reading for a few more hours until I hear the clock strike 5 o'clock.
Ashley!! You're supposed to be in the library by now! I think quietly to myself.
So I quickly look around to see if anyone is watching, and I head straight out the portrait door. I rush quickly over to the library and head right to the usual spot. Jason is there waiting, his head buried deeply in a pile of books.
"Hey Jason I'm sorry I was so late," I open my notebook and sit down next to him.
"Ashley, hi!" He moves across a space so I have more room.
"So did you find anything new?"
"Yes. I did actually. I found loads of books on the history of Felix Felicis but then..." he hesitated and picked up a thick leather-bound book and slammed it down in front of me, "I found this."
"And what exactly is this?"
"This is a book of the most legendary potions to ever exist. Almost everything about the creator and the side effects has been crossed out but there is still the recipe," he flicks through to the middle of the book and opens it on a light, blotchy yellow parchment and on it, written in thick calligraphy are the instructions on making Felix Felicis:𝕴𝖓𝖌𝖗𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖘:

He smirks and pulls his backpack onto the table revealing four small vials of powders and liquids. "I managed to sneak into the potions classroom while Professor Garfeild was out and borrow a few of these. I don't have all the ingredients, but I have a fair few. I managed to sneak an Occamy eggshell, a squill bulb, Anemone-like growth and the back of Murtlap. It's half of the ingredients we need but I heard someone down the corridor and had to leave but I can go back."
"No it's fine. But you can't go back alone it's too risky. We have most of the ingredients we just have to find a place to prepare it. Were all the ingredients in the class?"
"Yes. All except one. The Ashwinder Egg."
"That can only be in one other place. Garfeild's private supply room."
"And how do you suppose we do that?"
"We sneak in. Tonight."
"Ash that has got to be the craziest idea you've had. And you have had some pretty crazy ones."
"Says the one who already stole from the potions classroom! Jason... we have to do this. We could save Adelaide we could save Hogwarts if we just figure this out."
"Ashley that's not the only reason you're doing this is it?" Jason looks me deep into the eyes and doesn't say anything until I do.
"Fine. Willow isn't talking to me. Peter can hardly look at me. And Liam doesn't even acknowledge my existence. I have to figure out all of whatever is going on. For them. And you." He reaches for my hand and looks me in the eye.
"We will figure this out. With or without their help," Jason say reassuringly and starts to pack up his backpack and put away the books. "Well are we gonna do this?" And with that, I pick up my notebook, quickly scribble down the ingredients and recipe and head way down into the Dungeons with Jason.
