Curiosity killed the cat

"I- haha- I'm sorry dove."
Hunched over .
He was actually hunched over with laughter.
Could it really be that funny? My terror?
He could have been a murderer.
Probably not likely at a high school football party, but you never know nowadays.

"Yes, har har, very funny. What are you doing up here?"
Maybe it wasn't my place to ask, he was obviously here first, and it certainly wasn't my house.

He calmed down a bit and wiped a tear from the corner of his eye before it fell.
"Well I couldn't miss my favorite part of the evening could I? More importantly, what are you doing up here?" He beamed, stepping closer into the light.

He wore the same kind of thing,
Kinda.
He still had dark jeans on with classic vans, but instead of the black fitted T-shirt, he had on a red and black football jersey with the number 10 plastered in red in the middle.

"I saw the railing, got curious."

"Ah, curiosity killed the cat you know."

I shrugged.
"But satisfaction brought it back."

He stared at me for a moment, just a moment. Not too long,
But it definitely wasn't short.
But he quickly regained himself.
"I'm just surprised that you noticed it. No one ever has."

"I'm sure they are all to drunk or too busy car washing the inside of everyone's mouth to notice." I said, taking my seat in a chair and admiring the perfect view of the sunset that gets better with every passing second.

I didn't hear anything from him, and when I looked he kinda just stood there, looking at me, then he burst out laughing. Once again.

"Oh.. oh my god! T-That's perfect!" He laughed, stomach clutching and bending over kind of laugh.
"We have to be friends now, I'm not letting you say no."

Friends?..
He wants to be friends?
Why on earth would he want that.
It's a play.
"Ha, I'm not sure if that's the best idea. I'm sure there are tons of girls downstairs that would love to become your 'friend'."

"You mean the girls that like their tits better than their brains?"
Eww, I hate that word.

"Yes, go find one of them."

"And tell me." He said, sitting right in front of me.
Let me rephrase that.
Sitting right in front of my view.
"Why would I waste my perfectly good party screwing around with one of them when I can have you?"
If his face wasn't so attractive, I'd be throwing up right now.
Have me?
No. No no no no.

"No. You will not be having me, ever."

"And how are you so sure about that?" He gave a cheeky smile and scooted closer to me. Still in the middle of my view.

Once again, I thought people were suppose to have southern charm, but apparently not everyone.
I'd fully expect this man to come from California where I lived.
Or from one of the cities, he looked like a city boy.
What I didn't want was him hitting on me while I'm trying to enjoy a perfectly perfect sunset.

"Because I have standards, and you are below all of them."
I gave a slight nod and stood up from my seat, beginning to walk away from the rooftop.
"Have fun with your party."

I should have known it was his party. Perfect looks, perfectly sculpted body, sure enough fits a perfect house.
And might I say, what an asshole!
Sure, when I get a boyfriend it will be hot and cute as hell for him to call me his.
BUT! I am not in a relationship with...
I don't even know his name.
That man! Which means that he has no right to just ASSUME that he could just automatically have me.
That's not how this thing works!

Once again I was downstairs, trying to plow through a crowd of people, shoving away person by person.
I thought high school party's were never like this. That they always just kinda stuck in groups, chilled out.
But not here, here everyone is dancing, and moving and drinking while smoking and shoving their tongues down every throat they see.

I felt something grip onto my arm and before I could turn around and smack the hell out of whoever was grabbing me, the person showed their face to me.
"Woah woah woah, Mia? What's wrong?"
I was greeted with the familiar warm eyes that saved my lunch time.

Maybe it was because I was overwhelmed. Or upset, but something just made me hug him.
I threw my arms around him and hugged him, he didn't push me away, he didn't not hug me back. Instead he reacted quickly and held my body against his. His grip was firm, tight. If someone tried to pull me out of his arms they would fail miserably.
"Let's get you out of here." He said in a low voice by my ear, and I nodded.

The way people cleared when he was walking with a purpose, you would think that he was dangerous. He had no problems getting through the crowds because they all automatically moved for him. Hey no one was looking at him, they didn't even notice him. They just kept laughing and drinking, living their own life.

"I know a place we can go." He told me once we got outside, opening his car door for me. I stepped in and he gently closed it behind me.
It was only when he started driving that I remembered something very important.

"Wait! Sav, she brought me with her, and now I'm leaving her at this party..."
Wow what a good friend I am.

"Don't worry about it, she left with Cade a little bit ago."

What a good friend she is.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was dark out, but I could see the meadow and the trees from the moonlight.
Wherever we were, it was beautiful.
"Is this the part where you murder me?"
Well someone had to say it.
He laughed it off and shook his head, looking down at the floor as he continued to step through the tall grass.
"No. I would have done it back there by the pit, not out in the open like this."
Perhaps I should have been weary about his thought out answer of murder, but I too just laughed it off.
"So come on, what are we doing?"
"Just hold your horses. It's a surprise."
I rolled my eyes but listened to him.
We walked out another 50 feet or so, then we both stopped.
I waited there for someone to happen, but nothing did.
He just stood there, looking around at the night sky.
"Kaden?"
He looked at me and gave me a face letting me know that he heard me.
"What are we-"
I stopped my sentence as soon as a yellow light appeared right in front of my face.
It floated and hovered between Kaden and I, then flew off.
I let my eyes wonder around it, following its direction,
Then one by one, tons of yellow lights appeared.
I felt like I was on the inside of a galaxy.
"Oh my gosh.."
I whispered, still breathless.
"It's beautiful..."
"Yeah." He said simply, making me turn my head to him while the biggest smile was plastered on my face. He was already looking at me with a small grin on his face, the lights dancing inside his big green eyes.
"It is."
