INA PATEL IS STRAINED. Okay, well—maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. But can you really blame her? Barely a few weeks into term at Hogwarts, and somehow her sixth year is shaping up to be the most dramatic of them all. (It's important to note here that Ina does not do well with dramatic.)
It seems like only yesterday she was dreaming of a perfectly peaceful and boring year full of chai by the fireplace in the Hufflepuff common room with her best friend Will, a precisely paced study plan for her NEWTs next year, and an endless amount of pumpkin juice, courtesy of her favorite house elf, Wispy.
Her only worry was supposed to be her younger, spectacularly wild sister, Zera, and all the antics she no doubt would have ended up in throughout the school year—truly. And then, lo and behold, her crazy (loveable, yes, but... still crazy) younger sister manages to involve herself with one loud, charismatic, boisterous, nosy—did she mention loud?—and all together mad Sirius Black.
Which, in itself, should have been fine. Until, like just about every other thing, that goes wrong too—and suddenly Sirius motherfucking Black seems to pop up around every corner Ina turns.
All she wanted was a quiet sixth year, but with Sirius Black and his gang of misfits sticking to her like glue, the big fat capital-A-argument her mum and Zera seem to be in for going on two months looming over her, and whatever secret her best friend and her sister seem to be keeping from her weighing on her mind, it seems like that's too much to ask for. And all of that isn't even including the peculiar dreams she seems to be having lately...
...6th year is decidedly not going according to plan.

Ina Patel thinks she has nothing more than a stronger-than-normal maternal instinct and a heart of gold going for her. Sirius Black, with a blatant disregard for the rules and a complete lack of impulse control to match, is determined to prove to her that the exact opposite is true—whatever it takes.
