The apple. Delicious, seducing, and red as ever

Sweet, tart, sour

A stem protruding from it's depths

A leaf hanging on the edge

A deep red cloak surrounding

Its meaty inside

Hiding it from you

A bite

Sweet, tangy juice fills

your mouth

The meaty inside exposed

A second bite

further gouging its soul

six more bites

Its gone

The very heart of the being insight

a timer shape; six seeds

3 left; 3 right

The stem is still there

the leaf long gone

the core is tossed away into the dirt

your work here is done

but the apple lives on

the seeds will grow

into another tree

to which you

will go

and pick an apple once more.

The apple sweet, tart, delicious.
