Chapter 2: Where are we safe

We arrived at the school and opened the gates as quietly as possible. The man whispered “sorry I forgot to say my name is Omoshiroi yours?” I whispered”sheizon-sha and this is kowai” I went in and kowai followed and he went in as well. Then we opened the door to the inside of the school and a rotten smell filled the air. As we all looked down at our feet we saw a dead decomposing body. I grabbed kowai into my arms and carried her to the back of the school and Omoshiroi followed me. I asked, “where do you think we can go now?” Omoshiro whispered “ I don’t know. Kowai can you think of a place?” kowai said, “I don’t know…” We went to mom’s friend’s house. It was filled with runners. I shot all of them. We went everywhere we could think of and never found anything in any house just dead bodies and some runners that I shot with the gun. Some hours later after searching, Kowai said “sis, I am tired can we go home and rest.” Omoshiro whispered “is your home filled with runners?” I whispered, “I don’t think and if it isn’t and if it is we can shoot them and we still have a lot of food and water so yeah .” Omoshiro whispered, “ we should check it out.” I nodded and we started to go to my home. I found runners eating my parent's corps. I shot them all and me and Omomshiro buried my parents and burned the runners. I showed Omoshiro the guest room and told him “you can stay here I will go board up the broken window do you want to join me?” Omoshiro nodded and I asked, “also can I call you Omo?” Omo said “sure but it does kinda sound like Elmo.” I almost laughed but I stopped my self by covering my mouth and Omo saw that. We went and got some wood, nails, and a hammer from downstairs. We tried to be quiet nailing the nails in but runners heard us and we were not safe again. I picked kowai up from her bed. We ran to a window opened it and ran away. I whisper “where will we be safe?” He shrugged and whispered, “I thought this might have happened so I stuffed my bag with food and water.” I whispered, “you are a lifesaver.” He smiled and we woke Kowai up. She was always a heaving sleeper. sometimes it was cute but most of the time annoying but right now I am happy to see her sleeping peacefully. She woke up and ate some food and drank some water. Omo did too and handed me the bag and I whispered, “ I am not hungry right now I will eat later.” Then my tummy grumbled and he gave me a look. And I ate some food. Then I remembered that we have a latter in our garage and we had a roof with a flat top. I whisper “Omo I know a place we can sleep! We have a latter in my garage and a flat roof!” Omo looked excited and we got the latter and let Kowai go then me than Omo. It wiggled and then it broke I grabbed Omo and he said “thanks Sheiz. Is it fine if I call you that?” I whispered “sure” as I was pulling him up. I whispered, “now how do we get down?” Omo whispered, “we can go on your fence in your front yard that is how we can get on and off.” I nodded. We went to sleep. I checked my watch it was 8:00 am it was normally the time I get up for school so that is properly why my brain woke me up. I wondered if any of my friends had made it. I quickly thought of something else before I cried. I thought is Omo up I looked to my right then left he was nowhere. I looked in my bag there was only the food, not the gun. I thought did he betray us!? Then I heard footsteps and it was Omo with some guns and food and a grill and said “I went back in your house to get more stuff and got your grill from your backyard.” I smiled. He put some hamburgers on it. Some minutes later Kowai woke up and said “what smells so good?” Omo looked at her with a smile and said “I am cooking a hamburgers  one for all of us.” Kowai looked excited. Omo said “I got some apple juice too. Also Shezi I got the old-timey coffee maker from your garage all we have to do is heat it up and it is coffee!” I said, “you didn’t mention that when you said what you got.” I had an annoyed face and he shrugged then laughing quietly. He said, “we can talk normal but nothing loud okay guys?” I said, “yeah because we are safe here… wait did you get any board games?” He got out monopoly from his bag and smiled at us. I gave him a grin. We started to play for 2 hours and Kowai won. I said, “Kowai how did you get so lucky!?” Kowai laughed quietly and said, “I don’t know mommy?”. There was a sudden silence for a good 3 minutes than Kowai busted out in tears. I just sat there. Omo covered her mouth. I looked down at the things running at any sound they heard. I felt bad for the people. The people who sadly died. Mom and jisatsu.  I love you both you were really the best. Jisatsu, you were like a father to me. Mother, you were the best Mom a daughter could ask for. You both were the best I love you both. I hope you live a good life in the afterlife. But what do I  do? I don’t know how to survive. I wish you two were here you would know what to do.
