Bright and Red Delicious
Blood drips from your lip in the moonlight
As you're stripped of your hopes and dreams
A thick cord slung around your supple skin
It almost feels like a sin
To imagine the forbidden fruit of the boy
Whose life will be dashed away
He comes to mark his love
The snake, the vile reptile!
Forcing Eves to take the bite of God's fruit.
Heedless, they walk closer
Carving bark with their sharpened knives,
to evade time's erosion.
They should suffer─ I spit─ they should pay.
Eve inching closer to his face
In my eyes Adam is no longer
but a mound of scales and fangs
I bear the burden of God on my shoulders
with steely retribution.
Eve is crying under the apple tree
While Adam is pulled away
The moon bears witness to the sinner's cruel fate
And as he screams in chunks and grotesque squeals
I merely hoot and holler
I stare at his swinging corpse above me with an apple in my hand.
