It was an average weekend for Oobleck, traveling around the kingdom of Vale in search of undiscovered ruins. He brought along team RWBY this week so we could cover more ground. At the moment, they were about to enter the Giant's Woods, an unexplored forest known for its ancient snow-capped trees that have been measured up to one mile tall. 'The probability of something being lost to time within it is immense. I can hardly contain my excitement!'

The chirpy voice of Ruby, his fellow speed enjoyer, ringed in everyone's ears. "Whoa, these trees are gigantic!"

Weiss, the girl whose hair is colored as his favorite 'supplement,' interjected her annoyance to his chagrin. "That's why it's called the GIANT'S WOODS, you dunce."

The black bowed Blake made an observation that he was more than happy to clarify." The amount of time it must have taken for them to grow this big must have been in the thousands."

"Indeed! The smallest tree that we have been able to study has been estimated to be at least ten thousand years old. There could be a great amount of history waiting to be resurfaced deep within their roots! Although, the trees block out almost all of the sunlight, so we must be careful in the case of any grim inhabiting the area."

"Right!" The entire team all but shouted their agreement simultaneously. It was pretty creepy if you asked him. 'They should get themselves checked out. For all I know, they could be addicted to some kind of illegal substance. Ruby, though, I am certain that the cookies she consumes are spiked with something... I should ask for the recipe. They would go well with my evening coffee.'

Four hours into the search, there was no sign of anything other than the monotonous rows of thick vegetation. Yang, the buxom blond with a brain to match her blood relationship to Ruby, half there, half not, groaned in exasperation. "This is so boring! It's been four hours already, and there are no signs of any grim. I just want to punch something. Hey, I bet you guys I could punch this tree down!"

Everyone watched Yang activate her semblance and run towards the most gigantic tree that she saw. This is not going to end well at all. Oobleck zipped beside her as she threw herself at her target, infusing all her aura into her punch. "Ms. Xiao Long, I strongly advise you not to punch that..." A loud crack that followed the sound of shattering glass reverberated through the woods, yet the tree was unaffected by her assault. "...tree." Everyone winced at the sound save for the doctor, who only took another sip of his coffee. "I forgot to tell you, the tree's bark is incredibly durable, measured to be even stronger than steel while being substantially lighter. However, it cannot be harvested due to its immense thickness."

Yang grit her teeth, cradling her broken hand. "Why didn't you tell us before?"

"The answer is quite simple: I thought you would have the common sense to NOT punch trees thicker than the average house."

Ruby returned from a small expedition in a flurry of rose petals, shaking in excitement. "Hey, prof- DOCTOR Oobleck! I found a small trail not too far from here! Maybe it will lead us to a hidden city."

"Remarkable, Ms. Rose, maybe we can learn about their history and how they survive here. Yang! No time to waste whining about your crippled hand. Walk it off like I do when something goes wrong. Help her out if you must, Blake. We have a trail to follow." Oobleck dashed down the trail as quickly as possible, keeping the girls in sight. They yelled at him to slow down. 'We have no time to waste strolling among the foliage. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!' So he went faster.
