Luna gazed up at the house with her blue eyes as a faint smile graced her lips. She walked up to the door and knocked on it. Luna brushed some of her black hair behind her ear as she waited for the door to open. The door swung open to reveal the person she came to see, Ichabod Crane. He had a look of surprise on his face for a few seconds before it disappeared and he gestured her inside. After Ichabod shut the door they made their way to is inventing room. He sat down to continue working on his new toy as Luna stood by.
"What do I owe the pleasure" Ichabod said without looking at her.
"I have something for you" Luna replied holding up the letter, "I'd like you to read it if you can."
"Unfortunately I won't have time to read it" he said.
"Okay well I can leave it here on the desk for when you do" she replied.
"NO! Leave with it because I will never have the time and frankly I don't want to" Ichabod turned on her with rage.
Luna stared at the man as tears threatened to spill before she dropped the letter and ran out of the house. She ran until her legs gave out and she fell by a tree trying to catch her breath. Luna leaned against the tree allowing the tears to flow over the man. After the tears were dried up she decided to get up and head to her home. Luna made it there before the sun had fully set for the day. She went to her bathroom and made up a soothing bath before peeling off her clothes and sinking into the warm water. Luna allowed the water to relax her muscles and relieve her of the day's emotions. After awhile she cleaned herself and got out draining the tub. Luna walked into her bedroom with a towel wrapped around her and changed into her nightgown. She drew back the covers of her bed and got under and closed her eyes to sleep.
The next morning awoke to the morning sun shining through her window. Luna got up and went to her closet where she picked out a light blue dress. She went to her bathroom and got ready for the day. Just as she finished a knock at her door rang through the house. Luna walked to the door wondering who it was. She opened it to find her friend Angel standing there with a massive grin.
"Good morning Luna" she shouted throwing herself at the girl.
"Morning Angel" Luna replied hugging her friend back.
"So how did it go with Ichabod" Angel asked pulling away.
"Um..I don't want to talk about it," she answered, "How about we go into town and look around."
Angel's face lit up at the suggestion and quickly dragged her friend to the town. They made it to the town and looked through some of the window displays. One particular window they looked to Luna spotted Ichabod inside. She grabbed her friend and tried to drag her away from the shop before he came out, unfortunately she wasn't fast enough.
"Good morning ladies" Luna heard his voice ring out.
Angel pulled away from Luna to turn back to Ichabod, "Good morning Ichabod. How are you?"
Luna stayed facing away from the man as the events of yesterday replayed in her head. Angel elbowed her friend to get her attention, which did. Luna left the two behind not caring if she ditched her friend or not. She just wanted to get away from the man who shattered her heart with his words. Luna heard both of them calling out to her but she just continued to walk away ignoring them. Once she made far enough away she stopped and took in her surroundings. Luna was by the tree she had cried against yesterday, which she leaned against.
"Luna, there you are" Angel's voice floated to the girl.
"Hey, I'm sorry I walked off I just couldn't see him" Luna answered Angel's unspoken question.
"It went that bad" her friend asked finally reaching her.
Luna nodded glancing down at the ground.
Angry came upon Angel's face as she told Luna to wait for her to come back. The girl ran after her friend begging her not to cause any trouble with the man. As they continued to argue about what Angel should do they reached Ichabod's house. Angel pounded on the door as Luna begged her to walk away from this.
"No, I will not stand by as my friend gets her heart broken by some guy who's too oblivious to notice she likes him" Angel' shouted.
"What's with all the shouting I'm trying to work" Ichabod's voice rang out.
Both girls turned to look at him standing in the doorway, before Angel pushed him inside and slammed the door. Luna was so stunned she didn't have time to react to her friend's actions. She could hear her friend raising her voice at Ichabod but didn't hear any of the words clearly. Luna was so afraid of her friend scaring him off that she fled back to her house. Once inside, she ran to her room and flung herself on the bed. She cried at the thought of Ichabod hating her forever because of her friend. Luna was so exhausted by the tears that she slipped into sleep.
Hours later, Luna was startled awake by a knocking on the door. She got up groggily and shuffled to the door. Luna opened to find Ichabod standing there. He had an open envelope and paper held in his hand.
"Luna I'm so sorry for everything I said to you" Ichabod stepped forward.
Luna took a step back from him, "You hurt me."
"I know and I have no excuse for my behavior" he said not moving, "Angel chewed me out for it."
She smiled faintly knowing her friend's temper.
"I found your letter on the ground after she left and I took the time to read."
Luna's breath caught in her throat at that statement. Ichabod moved so he was closer to her and put his free hand gently on her cheek. He stared into Luna's as his thumb stroked her cheek.
"I was a fool not to see" Ichabod stated before pulling the girl into a kiss.
Luna responded to the kiss and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. They broke the kiss only leaving a few inches between them.
"I love you Luna and I hope you can forgive me."
"I love you too Ichabod so of course I'll forgive."
