Chapter 34: Stage Names, A Familiar Face and New Roommates

Later, Joker informs the first-string and second-string members of the Circus of their three new members. "Everybody! We have some talented new mates joining our great show! Allow me to introduce, Black!" Black was Sebastian's stage name. He was dressed in clothes similar to his butler's uniform but his tie was replaced with a dark purple ribbon held together with a skull. He held a black top hat in his hands and has a dark purple streak down his right eye.

"Hello, I'm Black. It's a pleasure to meet you all." He said.

"Then there's the wee ones over here. Say 'hello' to Kitty," Joker says gesturing to Mei. Sebastian was very much enjoying the sight of her in such a cute little outfit. It seemed to be a perfect fit for her. She wore a short black dress with matching arm garters and a leg garter on her right thigh, along with a choker around her neck. Her gloves are dark pink and reach to her wrists. Her boots are dark pink with black laces and end just below her knees. She has dark pink lace lining the top of her dress and the top and bottom of her arm garters, leg garter, and her choker. Her choker has a golden pendant dangling from it. She wears black cat ears and a tail. Her tail has a dark pink ribbon tied around it. Her normal eyepatch was replaced with a dark pink one and under her right eye was three hearts painted in dark pink.

Mei gave a polite bow and softly said, "Hello...it's nice to make your acquaintance."

"And say 'hi' to her little brother, Smile!" Ciel was dressed in a white, black vertical striped shirt with a ruffled collar tied with a bluish-purple bow, a black vest, dark blue shorts with ruffles at the side, two stocking; one black and one white with black vertical stripes with black lace at the top, white boots with black laces and a blue hat with a white lining and a light blue fluff on top. Under his left eye was three diamonds painted in blue. "SMI-?!" Ciel nearly shouts as he was horrified by his stage name. Sebastian tried to hold back a laugh as Joker motioned for the others to greet them. "Go on now! Let's 'em a warm welcome!"

"Hello!"

"Come now, Smile. Wouldn't you like to say a few to everyone?" Sebastian asked. His laughter was etched into his words. He was enjoying this way too much for Ciel's liking. As much as Ciel was discontent with his name, he greets the other members anyway...with relative difficulty. "...Yes, I'm..uh...so happy to be here."

"Come on Smile, smile!"

"Ugh..."

Afterwards, Joker gives Ciel and Sebastian a backstage tour before they can get down to work.

"Follow me if you please. Our first stop, right over there, the tents you'll be sleeping in. This area is for second-tier folk. Stagehands, newcomers, and the like. Sleeping arrangements are about two or three per tent." Joker explains to them as they opened one of the occupied, and cluttered tent. Ciel was already dreading this part of the tour.

"Over there, you have the storage tent and the mess tent." Joker says, indicating the mess hall and storeroom and says that it is important for the recruits to provide grub and food. "Cooking's a big part while yer new, so best be ready to work hard. Furthest down the line, there is the infirmary, where Black was yesterday. Moving on," In the area, Joker leads them to the centre where they found exceptional fancy tents. "Another set of tents. These are the private quarters for the main cast." Unlike the dull colours of the previous ones, these tents were a bluish-lilac colour with purple lanterns hanging outside and a noticeable barrier between the different tents.

"There are private tents?" Ciel asked.

"Of course. Once ye hit it big, ya get a place to yourself. Oh, 'n' the first is Snake's so best keep yer distance. I hate for you to come to grief. Snake lets his poisonous beauties run loose, ya see. A bit from one of them and ye be stone dead."
