Ashley's POV:

Today's the first day of my senior year! Over the summer I went to California and got really tan and fit. Maybe this year I can finally win over Percy. Oh who's Percy? Only the hottest male in existence. We were so close to dating but he suddenly disappeared last year. I heard he came back though! There's nothing stopping us from being together now!

Time skip

I see him! Oh my god he got HOT. I mean he was really cute before but now he's... more of a man. His muscles show through his shirt and he's several inches taller. His eyes are beautiful as always but now they look burdened with pain. Whatever, the point is, he's back and hotter than ever. And so am I. I walk over to him and flutter my eyelashes. "Hey Perce," I say casually, flipping my hair over my shoulder. He shifts his weight, looking uncomfortable. "Uh Ashley, is there something in your eye?" Percy asks. Aw how cute! He's concerned. "No silly, why?" "Well it's just that you were blinking a lot and uh.. yeah." He's nervous around me, which means he likes me back, right? I start to say something, no doubt something hilarious and cute to make him really fall in love with me, when this girl walks into school and Percy's attention shifts to her. Wait what? He should be completely focused on me! Who even is she? She's new here and she (as much as I hate to admit it) gives me serious competition. Her hair is this golden blonde that looks natural and her tan is even better than mine, like she's been spending her days outside her whole life. She's pretty tall and muscular in that "I'm really fit and I love to exercise and eat healthy" kind of way. Her eyes are a vibrant looking gray. Basically, she's gorgeous. And apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks so. Percy starts to go towards her when she spots him as well. She smiles and even her teeth are perfect! Percy immediately grins back. "Annabeth! What are you doing her? I mean, not that I don't want you here, in fact, I'm ecstatic! But-" Percy rambles but gets cut off by Annabeth. "Seaweed Brain, calm down," she laughs. "I'm here for a job at the Empire State Building and my mom says that I should have an education while I'm here so I chose to go to school with you." They hug and I take that as my cue to step in. "Um Percy? You wanna introduce me to your friend? You know what? Nevermind. I can do it myself." I turn to Little Miss Wonderful and say "Hi, I'm Ashley, Percy's girlfriend." She needs to know that he's mine. To my surprise, she cracks up. "You?" she says. "That's funny because I'm his girlfriend and have been since last summer." She and Percy look like they're trying not to laugh. I stand there shocked. How? I quickly compose myself and huff, turning on my heel and walking away. It's now my goal to break them up to make way for Percy and I's relationship. It will happen, I swear it.

After school

As I'm walking out of school, I see Percy and Annabeth at his car. He kneels down on one knee and pulls out a... ring?! Annabeth gasps and her hands fly to her mouth. I can see the tears forming in her eyes. Percy starts to speak and I move closer to listen. "Annabeth, I know this might be a bit forward but I love you. I have since we were 12 and I plan on marrying you one day. We're still in high school though and your mom would kill me if we got married now so will you please accept this promise ring?" "Percy, of course! Oh my gods I love you so much." He laughs and stand up. They kiss and my heart shatters. As they're driving away, I find myself wishing I could find myself a nice guy like Percy. All of a sudden, someone yells "WATCH OUT!" and crashes into me. We both topple to the ground and the guy groans, holding his head. He was on his skateboard. He gets up and brushes himself off and I see his face. He's pretty cute actually. The guy holds out his hand to help me up. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry, I'm new here and I was distracted-" "I'm fine, thanks." I get up and smile at him. "I'm Michael by the way." After that scene with Percy and Annabeth, I'm still a bit sad and I guess it shows because Michael says, "Hey are you okay? Tell you what. As an apology, I'm taking you out for coffee and you can explain to me why a pretty girl like you is so sad." "Right now?" I question. "Right now."
