Just Pretending Part 2

Recap:
Annabeth has almost the same schedule as me! Although I have a sneaking suspicion that Paul has something to do with it, I'm happy. I'm walking through the hallway with Annabeth at my side, talking about camp when my friends see me and rush over. I quickly whisper to Annabeth, "They're coming! What do we do?"

Annabeth just snorts and says, "Calm down Percy. And follow my lead." While we wait, she grabs my hand and holds it. Electricity runs up my arm and I look at her in shock. "What? We have to get into character" she replies calmly. I try to ignore how nicely her hand fits in mine because Kelsie and Nicole are now in front of me. They look confused looking at me and Annabeth, their gazes on our interlocked hands. The silence gets a bit uncomfortable until I finally realize that they're looking for an explanation. "Oh! Uh this is my girlfriend, Annabeth," I say gesturing towards her with my free hand. Then to her, "This is Kelsie and Nicole, who are my friends. Speaking of, where's Jack and Matt?" It's Nicole that answers, "Oh they forgot that they were walking the wrong way and had to rush to their next class." Kelsie narrows her eyes at me, probably realizing the subject change and turns towards Annabeth. "So you're the famous Annabeth Chase huh? Percy talks about you all the time. He never mentioned that you guys were dating until yesterday though.." Her eyes study Annabeth apprehensively. I begin to feel all panicky but Annabeth just straightens up and replies, "Yeah we made it official only a couple weeks ago before we left camp." Then she rolls her eyes at me, "Took him long enough." My heart's pounding now. The way she's talking... She sounds almost.. sincere? My mind whirs with all the possibilities before I see that all three girls are looking at me. "Seaweed Brain, aren't we gonna get to class now?" My so-called "friends" laugh at that. Huh. I guess while I zoned out, Annabeth became friends with them, cool. Kelsie perks up and turns to her, "Hey can I see your schedule?" "Yeah here," Annabeth says, handing over the paper. Nicole looks over Kelsie's shoulder as they both read it and their eyes widen. "You have the same schedule as Percy!" they exclaim at the same time. It's such a regular thing for them that the three of us disregard it but Annabeth laughs a bit and mutters, "They sound like Travis and Connor." I laugh too until I realize that we've been standing in the hallway for a while now and even though we all have a free period, we'll get in trouble for loitering in the halls. "Let's go to the library and talk more," Annabeth suggests. "I doubt the teachers would like to find us chatting in the hallway anyway." It's like our thoughts are linked somehow.

In the library

Annabeth's POV:

On the entire walk here, Percy's hand never left mine. It was really nice, pretending that we were an actual couple. Then when we sat down at a table with Kelsie and Nicole, he seemed to realize that we were still holding hands and lets go, looking away nervously. Disappointment floods through me because that's all this is-pretend. "So tell us more about yourself, Annabeth," Nicole smiles at me. I think for a moment. "Well I used to live in San Francisco but my dad got a promotion, so here we are. Um my favorite color is grey, I love architecture, and-" I'm cut off by Percy, "She's smart, athletic, just amazing overall basically. And she's all mine." He smirks devilishly before leaning over and kissing me right on the mouth. My thoughts are all over the place and I barely notice when Kelsie and Nicole coo and gush about "how adorable we are." It takes a while but we eventually move on from that and spend the whole period just chatting between the four of us. The bell rings and Percy leans down to whisper in my ear, "Ready to meet Jack and Matt?" I vaguely feel myself nodding but in my head, all I can think about is his proximity.

Okay so sorry again for updating so inconsistently! There will be another part where Annabeth meets Jack and Matt (if you guys want) and Percabeth fluff might happen soo.. Vote please? And comment what other sorts of one shots you want to see because I'll do them!
