Just Pretending Part 1

Annabeth is coming to Goode and Percy is extremely excited. (Not dating) He's one of the most sought after guys in school because of his perfect god-like face.

Percy's POV:

I'm at my lunch table with my close friends, Kelsie, Nicole, Jack, and Matt. They're bugging me as usual about the fact that I don't have a girlfriend even though I'm apparently one of the hottest guys in school. It'd be kinda funny actually if it wasn't so annoying. Besides, I already have feelings for a certain blonde architect in training... "Percy!" Kelsie breaks through my thoughts. "What?" I ask stupidly. I guess I zoned out again. Oops. She rolls her eyes and says, "I said, 'You should really find a date quickly for homecoming.'" I groan, "Guys, we've been through this! I don't want a date." "C'mon bro. Why not? You have so many girls just waiting to be asked by you." Jack clasps his hands together mockingly and flutters his eyelashes at me. "Haha. Well I don't want one because... I have a girlfriend!" I say triumphantly. I don't. But they don't need to know that. Nicole looks at me curiously. "Really? Who is it? Since when?" "Uhh..." My thoughts flash to Annabeth. "Well her name is Annabeth." "The one that goes to camp with you?" "Yep." "The one that's joining Goode tomorrow?" "That's the one." Wait. STYX! I totally forgot! How could I forget that? Now my cover will be blown.

Time skip to after school at Percy's apartment

Annabeth's POV:

And... finished! I'm finally done packing away my things into the drawer Sally cleared for me. Percy's drawer. In Percy's room. That we'll be sharing for the rest of the year. My cheeks redden at the thought. Ding dong. It must be Percy! Oh gods. I quickly fix my appearance and walk to the door. I open it and there stands Percy with his lopsided grin. "Annabeth!" He reaches out and crushes me in a giant bear hug. "Seaweed Brain, you're crushing me." My voice comes out muffled because my face is buried in the crook of his neck. When did he get so much taller than me? "Oh! Sorry." I laugh as he releases me and I say, "Nice to see you too, Perce. You know it's only been a week since we saw eachother at camp right?" His cheeks flush and he scratches the back of his neck like he does when he's nervous. Aw how cute. Wait, what? I shake the blasphemous thoughts from my head. He's your best friend Annabeth. You can't ruin this friendship with a stupid crush. Get a hold of yourself. Just then, Sally's voice carries from the kitchen. "Percy, is that you? I made cookies!" His face immediately brightens and he rushes to greet his mom. Oh Percy.

Time skip to after dinner in his room, talking about the next day

Percy's POV:

"Sooo... about tomorrow, Annabeth." I trail off, not knowing what to say. I mean, I told my friends we were dating, for gods' sake! "Hmm?" Annabeth lifts her head from her book. We're sitting on the bottom bunk of my bed. "Well don't be mad at me but I kinda need your help." Her eyes narrow suspiciously and she says, "Why would I be mad, Percy?" "Ikindatoldmyfriendsweweredatingbecausetheykeptbuggingmeandwouldn'tshutup." "YOU WHAT?" she explodes. Miraculously (or not), she understood my rambling. "They wouldn't get off my back about getting a date for Homecoming so I told them I had a girlfriend but when they asked who, I may have accidentally said you." "And now you expect to what? Pretend to be your girlfriend?" she asks sarcastically with her eyebrows raised. Then realization dawns on her face. "Um, yeah kinda." I feel myself turning red and I scratch the back of my neck awkwardly. "And why would I do that?" "Because you love me and please?" I give the daughter of Athena my best puppy dog eyes. Now it's her turn to blush and after some persuading, she gives in.

Time skip to school

Annabeth has almost the same schedule as me! Although I have a sneaking suspicion that Paul has something to do with it, I'm happy. I'm walking through the hallway with Annabeth at my side, talking about camp when my friends see me and rush over. I quickly whisper to Annabeth, "They're coming! What do we do?"
