Olivia Benson was partnered with Elliot Stabler for 12 years. Until a fatal shooting in the squad room. A couple weeks later Captain Cragen told Olivia that Elliot was taking anger management classes. So she thought "okay he'll be back soon." That's what she thought for 2 more weeks until she was called into Cragens office.
"Olivia, Elliot just retired. I'm sorry."
