Better Now [Book 2]

Chapter 5

Jimin arrived at the entertainment company later the next morning after taking some pain killers and briefly spending some time with Jungmin. He was devastated when his boss called to tell him that he had to go to the company, causing him to hesitantly call the babysitter named Lucas, who was a student in college in Korea. He is currently a psychology major who wants to go to the US and work there as a therapist. Lucas is Jimin's go-to babysitter, and Jimin trusted him with Jungmin's life.

When Jimin left for work, placed a kiss on Jungmin's cute, button nose and left with Lucas waving at him in the distance. Before Lucas was about to open the door and step inside Jimin's home, he received a call.

"What's up? Yeah.... everything's fine, I promise....... Jungmin is perfectly healthy, Namjoon..... Okay, I'll talk to you later." Lucas quickly hung up and put his phone in his pocket, smiling at the confused Jungmin before opening the door and stepping inside.

Later during the day, Lucas had a class and called Johnny and Ten to help talk care of Jungmin while he was gone. He waited for them to arrive and left, kissing Jungmin's cheek lightly before he left. The moment Jungmin saw Johnny and Ten, he smiled widely. Lucas was glad that he trusted them. It had taken him ages to get Jungmin used to Ten and Johnny's presence and an even longer time for him to trust them.

Meanwhile, Jimin arrived the company to be informed that they had a meeting to attend. He groaned, when he was handed a file of paperwork and slowly trudged to the meeting. He was thinking of skipping the meeting altogether, but he didn't want to risk getting fired when his career was at it's peak. He entered the room and plopped onto a chair, placing a binder filled with paperwork on the desk. He pulled out his phone to see that Lucas has already sent him over ten photos of Jungmin. Jimin had specifically told Lucas to take as many pictures of Jungmin as he wanted as long as they were all sent to him.

Jimin's happy little moment was ruined when the CEO slammed his hand onto the desk, demanding attention. Jimin nearly dropped his phone from the shock, holding back a frustrated groan. He didn't even want to imagine how pissed he would've been if he dropped his phone. Knowing his clumsy ass self, he would've broke it. Again. Jimin put his phone in his pocket and crossed his arms sassily, looking at the CEO while everyone else looked at the desk, not having the confidence to look at the CEO in the eye.

"I've called you here to tell you all that our one of our idol groups will be having a modelling job sponsered by our new business partner, Spirit Wolf Co! I'd like you all to vote on which idol group should take on this job. While you decide, please give a warm welcome to Jeon Jungkook, the CEO of Spirit Wolf Co!" Park Jinyoung, the CEO announced. Jeon Jungkook stepped into the room with formal clothes that suit him perfectly. Everyone except Jimin clapped. He refused to clap.

Jimin could tell that Jungkook knew that he was unhappy judging by the smug look on his face. It was quickly replaced by a warm smile, flashing his pearly white teeth. "I'm so glad that I'm able to partner up with such a big entertainment company! In short, my company is a designer unisex clothing company meant to only sell clothes suitable for both genders. All the clothing pieces are carefully made and judged, only selling the best ones. I hope that this collaboration will be enjoyable to the staff of this company and my company!" Jungkook explained. Jimin could tell that everyone loved the idea already.

Despite not wanting to work with Jungkook, he knew that it would earn him more money if he did. More money meant a better life for Jungmin. Jungmin's life was already pretty good, but Jimin wanted his life to be as enjoyable as possible, unlike his. Jungkook passed around a piece of paper to everyone, signalling them to choose a group who would promote the clothes. Jimin quickly jotted down 'TWICE' in big, bold capital letters and passed it back to Jungkook.

Turns out, most people had also chosen TWICE with a few people voting for the company's youngest girl group, ITZY. Jimin was glad that most people agreed with him, which meant that it was quickly decided and TWICE was informed soon after the meeting was over. Jimin was one of the last people to leave the room due to all the paperwork he needed to clean up after pulling them out during the meeting. While he cleaned, he could tell that Jungkook was staring at him. It felt as if Jungkook was drilling holes into every fiber of his being.

After the paperwork was put in it's file properly, Jimin made his way out the door, not sparing Jungkook another glance. Much to his dismay, Jungkook had grabbed his arm before he could really walk out the room. Jungkook quickly pulled him back in and slammed the door shut.

"What is your problem?" Jimin asked in an exasperated tone. If it wasn't for Jungkook, he would be on his way home.

"Where is Wong Yukhei?" Jungkook asked, making Jimin shrug. "Never heard of him."

What he didn't expect was for Jungkook to narrow his eyes at him. "You're lying." Jimin swore that if he wasn't in his company's meeting room, he would be beating Jungkook's ass.

"I literally have no clue who this 'Wong Yukhei' dude is." Jimin laughed sarcastically. Well, until Jungkook pulled out a small picture from one of the pockets in his suit. Jungkook placed it on the table, causing Jimin's eyes to widen.

"Wong Yukhei, a spy in the Spirit Wolf Clan, also known as Lucas."

Jimin looked up at Jungkook in horror. "He's what?" He asked in disbelief.

"He's currently out on a job that I don't know of. He's hiding information." Jungkook replied, making Jimin sigh in relief.

Jimin thought that Lucas was sending information to Jungkook about Jungmin. If he was, Jimin would have to fire Lucas immediately. He couldn't take any risks if it involved Jungmin.

"I only have one request. Take me to Lucas. I want that information. If I don't get it, I'll kill him." Jungkook spoke coldly, making Jimin's blood freeze.

If Lucas didn't tell Jungkook about Jungmin, it meant that he would die. His blood would be on Jungmin's hands. Jimin's entire body shook at the realization.

"W-Wait here." He said, walking out the door temporarily to text Namjoon.

He didn't want his most trusted babysitter to die. Namjoon responded immediately, clearly panicked. The conversation ended quickly with Jimin entering the room again. Jimin swallowed back the lump in his throat and spoke.

"I'll take you to him."
