Chapter 2
Ellie's P.O.V
Could life get any better? First, I get caught for stealing an apple, which really wasn't that bad of a crime, for fuck's sake! It's one God Damned apple! Second of all I don't get to eat the apple (it really did look like a good apple..juicy, and perfect...oh now I'm hungry.)
Third of all, I get beat up by A.K.A. Fourth of all, my only picture frame of my family gets shattered by the one and only, oh so fantastic, Aila...fifth of all, I get kicked out of Rundle Orphanage, Into the streets of London, with no idea of where to go. Before, when I was in Rundle, I had never gone anywhere outside, even when we were allowed to, I don't know why but I preferred my own company, not others. I liked to be alone. And yes, I know I'm weird, I've been told that many times, thank you very much.
I blindly walked down the sidewalks, passing many occasional stores, here and there, and lots of apartments. London sure had a lot of apartments. I passed a grocery store named "Bob's Grocery Store." I stiffled a laugh, if I laughed here then random people who were either walking to work, or shopping at the nearby plaza, would think I'm some rapist with an evil plan to conquer the world. I've had experience.
I passed Bob's and walked past a food stall. The wooden crate was full of fresh, warm, flaky croissants, and many ripe fruits. Instantly, my mouth began to water, I haven't eaten in forever! Since this morning to be exact. I glanced at a random clock hanging outside a store and saw it was 3:45 in the afternoon. My stomach rumbled and I placed my hand on it longingly. I went through my pockets, pulling out the twenty dollar bill, Ms.Parkinson had given me and stared at it. Should I spend my only money on food? Food is a necessity of life... And I was pretty thirsty too...
I walked over to the food stall, handing the worker there the twenty dollars. I picked up three croissants (some for later,) two peaches, one banana, and and a water bottle. That should be good. The worker handed me three dollars in change, and gave me the food in a plastic bag. I gave him a quick thanks and walked away, shoving the money in my pocket.
I kept walking, nibbling on the croissant as I walked past numerous stores and plazas.
I didn't know how long I'd been walking, but soon I heard loud music coming from a certain somewhere. The music was pretty catchy, I tried to listen closely finding words like "Get out...thing...climbing...dying." What? Dying!? Why does a song have something about dying in it?! There was lots, and when I say lots I mean, A LOT, of screaming coming from the place. I walked a bit further, my curiosity taking over me, and found a large white stadium. Scratch that, a GINORMOUS white stadium. That describes it better. The sides were all perfectly shaped cement, with occasional windows here and there. It looked like a 6887654322457898654334 billion dollars worth! Or maybe I'm just not used to seeing these kind of buildings.
The music was a bit clearer now, and the screaming was a lot louder. It sounded like there were only girls in there, all probably screaming at the top of their lungs. I swear, If they keep screaming like that the hospital will have a lot of patients with sore throats tomorrow. What could they be screaming over?
I walked around the building and I heard the music come to an end. Oh, so the show is probably over. I came to a dark alley with no trace of life in it, and decided I should walk in there and see what was happening. I came to a old looking, perfectly Rundle style door, with large red words painted on it saying, "KEEP OUT!" Sheesh, that sounded so aggressive. Why not just add in something like "KEEP OUT OR I'LL CHOP YOUR HEAD OFF!" Hey...that kinda rhymed!
