Here we are, first year of senior high! Ugh, this place already gives me a bad feeling. "Here we are! I hope you have a good day!", My mother said excitingly while I leave the car. "You too, mom", I replied with. The school seemed basic. There was boring looking teachers and annoying students that think they're better then everyone else. As soon as I walked to the entrance, a boy bumped into me. He was wearing a blue tie and skinny jeans. He looked a bit like my dad when he was at school. "Sorry! I d-didn't mean to b-bump into you, there", He said while stuttering a bit. "It's okay", I muttered. He seemed to be in a hurry or something, judging by the way he was running. "I've g-gotta go", He said while running down the stairs that lead up to the entrance. I slowly opened the huge metal doors and entered. Inside of the school there was trophies and old boring painting of the students that used to go there. I didn't really feel welcomed when I walked in. The receptionist ignored me when I tried to speak. She was busy, I guess.
"Your next class should be Maths then Science", The receptionist said in a tired voice. I walked to the right Maths class and I seem to be a bit late. The Teacher was looking at me, menacingly. "And, who must you be?", He asked me. "I'm L, I just moved into the city. Sorry for being late", I said while keeping my head down so I didn't make eye contact with anyone in the room. "Sit next to Jacob, the guy at the back", He said while pointing at a rather handsome guy. I sat next to the guy, trying not to make eye contact. He clearly wanted to make eye contact with me, though. "Who is that? Is he new?", A random girl said that was sitting at the other side of Jacob. I felt a bit embarrassed. "Did you not hear the teacher, Charlie?", Jacob said to her. She gave him a smirk and continued her work. "Sorry, Charlie thinks she's the real deal", Jacob whispered. I giggled a bit. "Wow, a blondie with a certain colour. Classic high school popular girl", I replied. He laughed a bit. "Hey, you should sit next to me at lunch time", He said while smiling at me. "I'd like that. You know, it's my first day being at this school", I mentioned. The last school I was at was full of homophobia. Every one thought they had the right to hurt me. Yeah, it wasn't fun being the only gay and nice human being at that school. I really hope this school is much better than the last one. The bell finally rings for the next class, English.
I eventually get to class without talking to anyone or making eye contact. I sit alone, trying to make sure no one notices me. "Okay guys! New topic, Shakephere", The English teacher said. I sighed a bit. I hate Shakephere, but I did like Romeo and Juliet. I had no one to talk to in this class. Jacob was in the one next to mine. I don't think I would want to talk to anyone at the moment. For the whole period, the teacher was just talking about where he was born and that we were gonna watch Romeo and Juliet at the end of term. I was happy about the. It was finally lunch time and I got what I usually get. Two small slices of pepperoni pizza. It was the only thing I could eat there. I found Jacob and kinda walked over to him. "Oh! Everyone, this is L. He just came here to this school", Jacob explained. I waved and smiled but I don't think they approved of it. I sat next to Jacob and started to think, "What am I doing? I'm not as handsome as these jocks". I quickly ate my food and as soon as I was about to leave, Jacob spoke. "How's going to the carnival tomorrow?". Only two people answered. "Are you going, L?". I nodded just so I could get away. He waved goodbye and continued eating his food. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to learn this place.
I eventually get outside and I kinda hid myself under a tree. I went on my phone and called my mum. "Hey sweetie! Are you having a good day?", She said. "It's okay, better than the last one, anyways. Still have two more classes till I'm out", I replied with. She said "goodbye" and hanged up.
I was casually playing a game my phone, until the jocks came over to me. I turned it off and looked down at the ground. "I think I know you", One of them said. He was wearing a red jacket that looked quite soft. "Me? I just got here", I replied. He looked me up and down. "Must be someone else, then", He said before they slowly walked away. What was that for? I was quite confused. The bell rang for the second last class. It was chemistry. I entered and noticed that Jacob was there. I sat next to him. "Hey L", He said in a calm voice. "Hey Jacob. Guess I'm your lab partner", I replied. "It's fine, I like working with other males that aren't complete dumbasses", He admitted. I giggled a bit. We where suppose to put two chemicals together and make a different colour, me and Jacob eventually got there. "You know, I've never been with a girl before", Jacob said. I was shocked a bit. Who wouldn't like a handsome guy like him? "What do you mean? You're quite handsome and smart", I said. I saw him blush a bit. I just realised what I said there. "Sorry...", He muttered. He looked at me. "It's okay, thanks for saying that. It was sweet", He replied. I looked at the colour changing. "It's beautiful", I said in a quiet voice. Jacob nodded. I felt something touch my hand. It was Jacob. I looked at him and blushed. "Can I speak to you later?", He said. I nodded while blushing. Why is he doing this? Does he have feelings for me? I really hope it's not another prank.
After school, I went to the tree that Jacob me to go to. "Hey L, I was wondering if you would like to go to the carnival with me?", He said. "Totally!", I said while smiling. I really wanted to go with him. "Great! See you at 6?", He said. I nodded and we both walked away. The bus eventually arrived and I went on it to go home. I think I like Jacob. I'm still confused. I open my front door and close it after entering. The first day of school and I already have a crush. Oh well, I can't wait to go to the carnival.
