I let out a large sigh sinking myself into my couch in disappointment. "What buzz kill," I mutter rubbing my temples. "His phone rings and instantly he has to go." I throw off my shoes using my feet to kick each one-off. I looked up at the clock it read midnight causing my frustration to grow even more. What did he have to do this late at night? I quickly sat up digging into my purse for my phone so I could send him a text message asking him if he was okay or try to get any information out of him. My phone, which I had on silent, already had one message on it. I unlocked my phone to see it's from Kai. Sorry for leaving as I did. Work called me in tonight and it was urgent. I'll call you tomorrow.

I fall back onto the couch holding onto my phone still I press it against my forehead. The cool screen gave my frustration some relief. I don't even think I know where he works at. I pull my phone from my forehead curious to where he worked at I typed up a message hoping after how close we have been he would tell me. That's fine, I don't think you ever told me where you work. After I sent the message I frowned, He won't get mad, will he? Am I being too clingy? I sat in silence staring at our messages hoping I wasn't overstepping any lines we had.

My stomach twirled from the scenarios my mind was trying to create, I threw my phone across from me on the couch. Stupid. I shut my eyes relaxing, into the cool fabric I was on the feeling lingered from the car. My body burned with desire, and that desire could only be fulfilled by Kai. I found myself running my fingers along with the parts I wish Kai could touch now. The overwhelming sensation was similar to bliss when he did it, while I was only causing my desire to grow. But, as quickly as the desire came, I could feel myself lose it to disappointment. I got back up to retrieve the phone I had decided to punish.

Elle said to call her if I was free tonight, didn't she?  I thought as I found her name in my contact list. I dialed her listening to her everyday ring tone blasting in my ear.

"Hello?" She answers after only two rings.

"Things didn't work out, he had work," I said getting straight to the point not even hiding the disappointment in my tone.

I could hear her laugh for a moment, before saying anything more, "Well, Jasper has a friend here and we are having a party tomorrow to welcome him back in town. Would you like to come? I think it would be good for you and all."

"Who's the party for?" I asked without hesitating.

"Don't worry about it for now just dress nice, besides I'm sure you'll have fun. It's the holidays!" She giggled without giving me my answer.

I couldn't help but give in to her, "Fine, but my car is at work so I'll need a ride over there."

"Great! I'll come to get you around noon! See ya then!" Se said with so much excitement I became worried as she hung up.

I frowned with the thoughts swirling with who was this friend? It must've bee someone we knew with it being a welcome home party, but Jasper barely knew anyone in our highschool. I sighed and didn't think much more of it, as I headed to my bedroom. I threw my phone on the charger not concerning myself with if Kai decided to message me back. I undressed then sank into my bed with the feeling that something was missing. As my eyes closed and I sank into the subconscious of my mind.

As the light peeked through my curtains it hit my eyes with no sympathy, I groaned as I rolled over wanting to cover my face and lie a bit longer. Five more minutes would be nice. After lying for what felt an entirety I managed to sit up. I felt refreshed compared to last night, but my mind wandered to Kai. I stretched before reaching for my phone. It was only nine, and I had only one message which was from Elle. Hope you're ready by noon! See you then! Kisses! I laughed only to roll my eyes at her weirdness, but that's my best friend for you.
