"I'm down at the VIP pool with Jamie, wanna maybe...bring your little friend down? And yourself of course" Nick chuckled through the phone, my body tensing at the thought of Miles shirtless.
What's the worst that could- no, don't think that way
"Yeah, i'll call him" My voice softly pushed out, rushing over to the bedroom, wanting to get changed as fast as possible.
"Ok, see ya there- oh hey Jamie! Alex is gonna come swim with us!" Jamie let out a soft "Yay!", causing me to softly giggle.
...
"H-hey Miles it's Alex. Some of my friends invited me to the pool and i was wondering if you wanted to come too" Well that's one way to put it. The phone almost slipped out of my grasp twice from the obnoxious amount of nerves racing through my body.
"Of course! Let me get ready, i'll unlock my door right now. Room number 505" Miles giggled like a boy who just opened his first Christmas present.
Room 505? That's a coincidence
He seems to be...interested? No, you're just overthinking it. Maybe he likes to be close to his friends? Guess I'll have to find out the difficult way
Once my gold swim trunks were on, I slipped my feet into my sandals, quickly opening and closing the door, not realizing I was shirtless until my door was locked.
Well, it is 87 degrees, I think I can go outside without wearing a shirt
I stuck my hand in my pocket, digging around for my small phone. Matt keeps bugging me about how old the model is but, I don't use it as much as everyone else does. The black case was quickly popped off, revealing a tightly folded map of the casino. My eyes quickly scanned the outline, trying to look for building 500. The layout I picked was sorta funny, actually. I skipped building 100, leaving 200, 300, 400, and of course, 500.
Once I found number 500, I realized how close his room was. My pace picked up, trying to get to him faster than I probably should.
Why is he so magnetic?
I soon arrived at his door, staring at the number '505' written in big letters, almost like it was staring back at me.
"Whoever gets room number 505 is going to be lucky"
My brain flickered this thought in my ears, Matt's humorous tone echoing through my head. The door unlocked all of a sudden, a shirtless Miles stumbling out. My eyes widened as I came face-to-face with him.
"Well, I guess you're here already" He mumbled, still very close to me, heat radiating off of his body, making me feel a little too warm.
"Yeah, I've been here for a little while" I sighed sheepishly, feeling foolish.
"I could have let you in!" He laughed, softly grabbing my hand, pulling us away from the door. Miles swiveled around, swiftly locking the door before turning back to me.
"Lead the way" He signaled his hands up in the air, pointing to the next floor above him. A small chuckle escaped my lips, half out of random nervousness.
It was a recurring feeling that happened when I was around him, which slightly confused me. My feet started a small pace but when Miles realized which way we were going, he picked up his pace tremendously.
"Hey! Why-" I laughed out, not being able to finish the sentence, if I wanted to keep up. Miles let out a loud, rather silly laugh and slowed down a little. When my pace was the same as his, he abruptly stopped, causing me to slightly stumble to slow down. We were soon standing next to each other once again, my nerves coming back.
"Is that it?" Miles wheezed out, still slightly out of breath.
"Was that a Strokes joke?" I said uncontrollably, giggles bubbling in my throat.
"Unintentionally, yeah" He giggled, spiraling his hand out in front of him.
"But yes, that's the pool" I slowly started, trying to grab the card out of my pocket. When I realized I forgot it, I called for Nick, hoping he would let us in.
"Hey you came!" Nick called, trudging over to the pool gate door, Jamie laughing in the background.
This is the most I've laughed in awhile
"You the one that Matt was going on about?" Nick said, trying his best to contain laughter. My fingertips made their way up to his shoulder, lightly flicking against Nicks skin, a small gesture that will hopefully shut him up.
"Yes, he's the one" I mumbled sheepishly, a shiver ran down my spine at the possible context of those words.
"Well come on in then!" He cheered happily, throwing his arms up to his head as if he was caught red handed. Miles laughed and walked in, acting as if the conversation was no big deal. I, on the other hand, was still scanning my brain for anything to bring up.
"Come on, Al" Miles softly pushed, ghosting his hand over my wrist. A small apology fell from my lips as I followed him over to two pool chairs, a maroon red umbrella with white stripes sitting in the middle, shading the area.
"This chair set up looks like a date spot" I chucked looking over at Matt, who was helping me arrange them to our personal liking.
"Maybe your date will bring you here"
I pushed the thought away when Miles lowered his towel over the chair in hopes to lay on it later, I'm guessing to dry off.
Come on in, the waters lovely. Look, you could meet someone you like
Before I had the chance to flick myself in the head I was swept off my feet and thrown over a shoulder.
"What are you doing!" I loudly laughed, hitting his lower back with my balled up fists like a young child in trouble.
"I'm trying to get you to the pool, love " He purred, setting me down before slowly walking down the stairs that lead into the water. A smile came over my face, leaving me happily galloping into the water with my arms flailing in the air. Jamie's loud laugh was heard from all the way across the water, giggles visibly bubbling up in Nick throat, as well as Miles'.
