Once I got back to my annoyingly echoey house, I pulled my loafers off, craving more of a comfortable feeling. I mean I do live alone, sadly. My thoughts became somewhat pleasant when I sat down at the black grand piano. Matt was actually the one that convinced me to get this gigantic, loud instrument. I've always been more of a guitar person but, I'm not afraid to learn new things. Maybe, if I'm just a little bit lucky, it will take me out of my own head.

My shoulders rolled back as my rather long arms stretched out, skinny fingers touching the cold, delicate keys. Unconsciously, I started pressing my fingers to the melody I made a few days ago. For a strange, unknown reason, this little piano bit can't get out of my head. Ever since the day I 'made' it, I've been adding small changes and or making it longer. It's the only thing I seem to be able to focus on, surprisingly enough.

As soon as my hands lifted from the piano, a small piece of technology started vibrating in my left pants pocket.

Who could be calling me now? The martini police?

After a few more rings I decided to answer, pulling my phone out, not looking at the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Hey Alex, how's it going?" Nick. Good friend he is, likes to check in with me every once in a while. He actually lives in the hotel, one of the few penthouses.

"I'm doing relatively well, just doing a little piano" A small sigh came out of my mouth as I held the phone in my left hand, standing up off the piano stool.

"You seem to like to piano, ever thought about writing something? And...publishing it?"

My whole body stopped in the middle of the hallway, how have I never thought about that?

"That seems fun" Was all I said before I stood there and thought about it for too long.

"Anywho, I'm down at the pool at the moment, wanna come down?" He said softly through the phone, my face slightly twisting to the side as I thought about the answer.

"Actually I think I might stay here and...write some music"

"Ok then, have fun!" The phone beeped, signalling he ended the call. Before I went back to the piano, I grabbed one of the cups of hopefully water, chugging it down to satisfy my dry throat.

Maybe creating music could free some space up in my head.

I wobbled back over to the grand piano, wondering about being 'famous'. It had...never really sparked an interest in me, I mean, not being able to walk the streets because of paparazzi? No thanks, not for me. My back hunched as I pushed my shoulders back, trying to look at the foot pedals underneath. Somebody that could use technology would simply look it up, but I'm not the best with technology. I'd rather just figure it out myself, I have enough brain power to decipher the different pedals on a piano.

My left foot pressed on the left pedal, a soft, peaceful sound coming from the piano when my fingers indented an A chord. I moved over to the middle pedal, a surprisingly echoey sound arising.

...

My peaceful sleep was brutally interrupted by the shrill sound of a telephone ringing. A groan came from my dry mouth as I quickly grab my phone.

Incoming call from Matt, the technology read. My thumb hovered over the call, before answering it absentmindedly.

"Hey Alex, I know it is somewhat early for you but...there is this interesting member I've never seen before. You don't have to, but I think you should come say hi" Matt quickly muttered into his end, trying to keep it subtle.

In a small, short breath I pushed out a "Fine".

Being single isn't that difficult, but I get where he's coming from.
