Deceit almost flinched as the bright lights of Thomas' living-room replaced the pale, soft light of his room.
He opened his eyes with no small amount of reluctance.
"Well, well, well. Look's as though someone is lying to themselves." He said, making sure to use his 'villain voice' as Remus called it. He just drawled his words more.
Roman was the first to react, drawing his sword and pointing it at the snake side with no hesitation.
"What are you doing here!? We have no use for you, Jack-the-fibber!" The prince yelled.
Virgil pulled away from the lying side, physically recoiling.
Deceit had to fight not to wince at his once-best-friend hating him so.
"I totally didn't hear someone lying and didn't decide to come and sort it out." Deceit winced. He hoped someone could decipher his reverse-speak.
Roman narrowed his eyes for a second, processing the sentence, before understanding what the side had said and leaned back on his heels, keeping the sword pointed vaguely at the snake.
"So, will someone not explain what is happening?" Deceit asked.
Logan stepped forward, eyeing Deceit, but the side was relieved to see no blatant hate or fear like he saw in the others. Not to say the Logical side liked him, per-say, but he didn't want to tear him limb-from-limb at least.
"Thomas has decided that he doesn't need to talk to anyone about his intrusive thoughts," Logan said, matter-of-factly.
Deceit felt rage flare inside him. He had to talk to someone about it. Remus was suffering so much from his intrusive thoughts recently. He hadn't even been able to get out of his bed in the last week. Thomas looked no better, in fact, the host in question was sitting on the couch, slumped over and with heavy bags under his eyes.
The snake swiveled around to face Thomas, his yellow eye glowing.
"What." It wasn't a question. That was clear from the rage that seemed to seep from the single word. "Thomas, without lying, you need to talk to someone. You are blatantly lying to yourself. Remus' condition will only worsen." Deceit ignored the pain from telling the truth.
It replaced the pain of what he was doing to himself before he was called.
"B-but I can handle it!" Thomas begged.
Another lie.
His eye appeared as though it was spewing yellow flame and smoke, highlighting his features and making them appear sharper.
"NO, YOU CAN'T!" The snake shouted, regretting raising his voice but not quieting down. "Do you realize that what you are doing is piling all those thoughts onto Remus?! Every thought you repress gets shoved back into him. He's unconscious in his bed with a fever of 106 right now because you are too damn stubborn to realize that you are lying to yourself!" Another flood of pain from forcing his vocal-cords to form the truth. He deserved it anyway, it wasn't a big deal.
