"Do you see anything?" Sarah asks. I shake my head.

"No, I need you to lift me a little higher."

"I can try." She says. She stands shakily.

"Wait! I see something!" I say.

"What is it?"

"A table."

"A table, that's it?"

"Not a kitchen table, it looks like a gurney, and there's a sheet covering it. Let me down, I'm going in."

"Be careful. I'll be the lookout." She lets me down and I go around the back. The lock on the door has been broken for years.

"I won't be long. I'm just going to take a peek under the sheet." I go inside and head upstairs. I'm not sure which door the table is behind, so I try them all. I eventually find it. The room is filled with tables. The sheets are clean, crisp. I look under them, just peeking, not fully taking the sheets off. Then, I explore the other rooms. One door is locked. I kick the door, and it easily breaks. There's another table in here, but this one is different. The sheet is bloody, and there's something underneath. I'm just about to lift it when I hear footsteps. I text Sarah.

Is that u??? I wait, but she doesn't text back. I could go out the window, but it's a long drop to the ground if I fall.

Is what me?? I'm outside. Polly, that isn't funny! I'm about to leave when he steps into the room. A man with a knife, the knife is bloody.

"You shouldn't mess with things that aren't yours." He says. I back up.

"I just wanted a peek, that's all. I was curious." He comes closer to me, smiling. The smile looks feral.

"Well, you know what they say about curiosity."
