An unsightly troglodyte man scurried down the alley and out onto the open. The full beam of the moon gave a view of the dangly arms that hung low at his knees, the receding hair and beady black eyes. Those sharp wicked eyes fell onto a little girl who was wandering helplessly in the town square. He could smell the blood on her scraped knees and the poor creature had torn her skirt and sobbed silently to herself. She noticed the ugly man, but in sympathy, she warned him that there was a monster loose on the street. The dwarfish fellow grinned and lunged for the girl, and she evaded him with ease at his every advance. He roared in rage and froze as the young missy began to cackle.
'Be careful sir, there are many monsters loose tonight.' Her mouth began to unnaturally stretch back to her ears. The man leapt back, long arms swinging almost ape-like and knocked into what he assumed was the streetlamp. The girl didn't move any closer, but she did wave at someone above him. He followed her gaze and shook with terror at the sight of a face even fouler than his.
