Forgetful Angel (Johnmark)

Chapter 2

Mark wakes up to someone shaking him. "Wake up, lion. We have recording today." He hears Jaehyun say softly. Mark tries to get up, but he feels so drowsy and his head is pounding. When he tries to tell Jaehyun what's wrong, his voice comes out all scratchy and hoarse. Way worse than "morning voice" It doesn't sound like he just woke up, it sounds like he just swallowed a beehive with the bees in it. Jaehyun widens his eyes at the condition of Mark's voice. He rushes out of the room, then comes back with some medicine. Mark hesitantly takes it (because who the hell likes the taste of medicine), grimacing at the taste. He gets out of bed, and sleepily walks to the closet. He grabs a baby blue oversized hoodie and some skinny jeans before walking to the bathroom to change. Being the half-asleep individual that he is, Mark can barely see his reflection in the mirror, so it's not a surprise he barely noticed a shirtless Johnny almost right next to him. "What are you doing?" Mark hears the dreaded voice, knowing damn well he fucked up big time. Once he turns and sees an unfocused figure that he assumes is Johnny, he makes out a slurred apology. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were in here due to me being half functioning right now. I'll leave you be-" Mark is almost immediately interrupted by his hyung "No. It's fine, you stay here I'll just grab my stuff and get dressed in my room." Johnny objects grabbing his clothes and his phone before walking out and closing the door behind him. Mark, as confused and flustered as he was, continued to get dressed and freshen up for the day.

When Mark gets out of the bathroom, he goes to the kitchen to see everyone enjoying their food and having casual conversations. Mark contemplates if he should even consider trying to sit with them knowing it'll ruin the mood, and judging by Donghyuck, Jaehyun, and Johnny's face, he didn't want to ruin their morning. Mark grabs a piece of bacon and starts to walk away. "Wait! Mark come sit with us!" Mark hears Jaehyun call, and he wished he could sink into the floor right about now. He turns around and smiles nervously at the others before timidly making his way over and sitting down between Johnny and Jaehyun. He looks around and notices that everyone seems irritated now. Mark looks at Jaehyun and silently begs with his eyes to be excused to leave. As the morning carried on silently, Mark just looked down at his hands for the majority of the time.

Once breakfast was over, everyone scrambled to get ready to leave. In the van, Mark made it his mission to do absolutely anything to stay with Jaehyun. "Jaehyun Hyung, let's sit in the back!" Mark said with a soft smile and Jaehyun agreed. Johnny just glared at them from afar while everyone got in the van one by one. Johnny ended up sitting between Doyoung and Taeyong near the front. During the ride, it was a calm silent atmosphere except for Mark's occasional coughing sessions that never seem to end until they do. Soon, the members had enough of it so Doyoung spoke up. "Could you keep your disease to a minimum? That'd be nice." Doyoung rudely asked with an eye roll. Johnny gave him a glare and a warning slap on the shoulder. Mark, being the innocent boy that he his, tried to keep in his coughs which ended up with him basically choking from how much it itched. Jaehyun tried to help him through it as much as he could and support him, but with 8 members against 2 it was kind of hard to stay positive. Mark's choking annoyed them more and you could hear a chorus of moans and groans of annoyance. "Could you please shut up-" Taeyong tried to remark but was cut off by a fuming Jaehyun "He's sick, you assholes. He can't just force his body to be better because of your expectations of him. So I'm going to need YOU to shut the fuck up, and leave Mark alone." Jaehyun responded with poison dripping from his tone. He hated that Mark was being targeted. He hated that all he could do was support Mark from the sidelines. He looked over at Mark to see him smiling softly. The others stayed silent through the car ride to the studio.

Once in the studio, everyone was ready to record their new song, Regular, Mark of course was up first with his verse so he went into the booth and got ready. His voice ended up coming out as a whisper. Jaehyun tried to silently tell him to be louder but Mark just shook his head and let out a small "I can't." Jaehyun rushed in and got Mark out of the room before anyone could say anything. "Lion, what's wrong? Are you losing your voice?" Jaehyun asked worriedly, grabbing Mark by the shoulders and slightly shaking him. Mark let out a quiet, yet strained "yeah." Jaehyun felt bad. Like it was his fault that Mark got like this. If he had just taken better care of Mark this wouldn't have happened. Jaehyun pulled Mark into a hug. "It's ok, I'll help you get through your sickness." Jaehyun declares before they headed back out to the others. "Guys it's really bad, I'm going to take him home and get him some medicine." Jaehyun announces getting a nod or a wave of dismissal from the others. Jaehyun led Mark out to the van and told the staff to take them home.

After they arrived at the dorms, Jaehyun led a coughing Mark inside. He got some cough syrup and other medication to give Mark. Once Mark took all of the medicine, he yawned and rubbed his eyes. Jaehyun picked up Mark and took him into their shared room. He laid Mark down on the bed and tucked him in. Mark lazily reaches for Jaehyun to stay. So Jaehyun got into bed with Mark and sang him part of Touch until he fell asleep.
