The hellish sensation of burning on the side of her left arm made her fall onto one knee, Lexi's hand planted onto the ground. Her eyes locked at her opponent, the grin on his face struck fear in the woman's core. As her leg shoved her entire body back up, she wrapped her fingers around the handle of her blade as it's weight just increased Lexi's burden.

As her bulky opponent stood his ground while neon green mist coated his hands and axe, he bent down and charged towards the one bladed woman with dust trails behind him. Lexi took a step forward and raised her blade, leaning to the front. Her green opponent pulled back his axe, Lexi's fingerprints let out black smoke while also leaning her arm back, before both of them clashed their weapons, the sound of scrapped metals reminded Lexi of the days of when she lived back in Underfire.

"Your stance was off; you were slouching. And you didn't exert enough strength in that right arm." A deep and clear voice said.

"I know, Mementai." Lexi answered, without confrontation. After all, fighting wasn't something she knew how to do without help.

"Who the hell trained you in Combat School?"

"Well, see; I went to Rowex' Mana Arts & Combat. I-It's not just about fighting."

"I don't care about THAT! God, how do you expect to join the best military guild- or even any military guild with that kind of fighting? You might as well be with the merchants."

"I-"

"Look, you may have tried your.. 'best', but it's not enough for the Dai Guard. Death won't be happy with you in it. So please turn your little back, and kindly walk away,"

"...-Alright," Lexi muttered, mainly intended for herself. She bent down to pick up her sword with both hands, as she stumbled behind from carrying the heavy blade. With her head down, the dark demon waddled away. With the thought she may be lost in the city, she'd take a while to find her way back home.

By the time she got back, the red sky was already turning purple. The sunset gave off a tranquil feeling to Lexi. Even in the slums, there were people that flew around or sat on their roofs to capture such a beautiful sight.

As Lexi stuck up her index finger and placed it against a small black orb on the doorknob, the orb glew purple and the door unlocked for her. "Im home." Lexi said as she kept her poker face up, locking the door behind her after going inside.

" LEXI!!" yelled a high-pitched voice. It was her pet Mirihound; Leaf, as he ran and jumped into her arms. "So? How did it go? What did Chief Mementai say? Are you in the Demon Guard? PLEASE TELL ME YOU GOT IN-"

"Slow down, one question at a time." Lexi chuckled, as she patted Leaf on the head. With him in her arms, she went over to sit down at her white couch.

"No, I did not get into the 'Dai' Guard. I wasn't the right fighter for them."

"Well, that's their loss. They could've made use of that brain of yours." Leaf laughed, as he curled up into a ball in Lexi's arms. "Please don't be sad, I'm sure you'll find a guild that'll gladly accept you!"
