Amanda laid still on the hospital bed. The sound of the beeping heart rate machine was the only noise that could be heard. It was deafening, the silence. Doctors and nurses came in and out of her room all day. She was still unable to be woken. They were beginning to loose hope.

Ashton walked down the long alley way that took him to where he got his drugs. He looked down at the ground hoping nobody would see him, he didn't feel good today. He didn't know why, but something just didn't feel right. Walking down the alley, he came to a stop his chest was in pain. This wasn't some ordinary pain, this was excruciating stabbing pain. Ashton fell to the ground.

Amanda's mother, Helen walked the halls of the hospital. She tried taking her mind off what had happened. She heard sirens in the distance, "another poor person" she thought. The sirens stopped and the doors to the hospital opened. In ran doctors and nurses wheeling a young boy on a hospital bed to the emergency operating room. He had blood dripping from his head, but he was still conscious. Helen looked away.
