"Come on, Tracy. We're going to be late!" A frazzled man in a dark blue suit called through the restroom door.

"Relax, Louie. We've got plenty of time," A woman in a scarlet knee-length dress and high heels assured him.

"I'll be out in a minute," A soft voice called back through the door.

"That's what she said five minutes ago," Louie muttered as he stepped away from the restroom and walked towards the coffee machine.

"Hey, you can't rush perfection," His friend said, following him.

Louie rolled his eyes and focused on pouring his coffee. Then he grabbed an energy drink.

"Nuh-uh. You do not need that much caffeine when your nerves are already wound this tight." The woman snatched the energy drink from his hand when he turned to head for the front counter, where a stunned employee watched them. "We need you to drive, and seeing pink elephants and dancing fairies isn't exactly conducive to that." She raised one elegantly shaped eyebrow in challenge before setting the energy drink back on the shelf.

Louie scowled at her for a moment before turning to head for the candy aisle. "Fairies are stupid anyway," He grumped.

"Fairies, stupid? Ha! Next, you'll tell me you don't even believe in fairies."

Louie's flat look was answer enough.

She gasped with exaggerated affront and said, "Don't tell me I've been friends this whole time with one of those 'magic doesn't exist' people!"

The barest hint of a grin tugged at Louie's mouth as he picked out a Snickers and a bag of Chex Mix. "Magic doesn't exist."

His friend gasped again. "You take that back!"

"No."

They went back and forth as they collected a few other essential snacks and checked out. They were so engrossed in their faux argument that they didn't notice the restroom door open.

Louie only turned around when he heard the click of heels behind him. He found Tracy in an ankle-length blue-green dress that complimented her eyes. Her hair was done up with some comb-like contraption covered in glass beads. Delicate silver necklace and heels completed the ensemble.

"So, how do I look?" Tracy asked shyly.

"Enchanting."

Their friend smirked. "Don't believe in magic, hm?"

Louie snapped out of his trance to throw her a glare.

Tracy giggled. "Shouldn't we be going? We don't want to be late for the wedding."
