The time is ripe, my friends
For Halloween,
And we'll come between
Our heroes and their happy end.
Tis kindness, not cruelty,
For strong as they are
They will not go far
Without some self-discovery.
I call my main villain
And set him a trail
With hope to prevail
Against genetics and his kin.
He stews in frustration,
Unable to shake
Off the shame and take
Revenge on his father nation.
The heroes live meanwhile
Fighting for justice,
Failing to impress
With their costumes and lack of guile.
Helping police and fire,
Saving limb and life,
Minimizing strife,
Showing hope and justice don't tire.
Crossed desires and motives,
Villain jealousy
Of gift given free.
If taken, how much would they give?
The clock begins to tick.
Powers given fade.
Hope can be remade,
Forged stronger, but they must be quick.
