Following the Peacekeeper Wars, the crew upon Moya had gone their separate ways. Rygel had returned to Hyneria to take over his rightful place as Dominar and Chiana was living with Jothee on whatever little planet it was they decided to settle down on. John and Aeryn however stayed aboard Moya with Pilot. Scorpius was doing what Scorpius does best, taking over the galaxy and keeping a close eye on John. Five-ish cycles later, the crew seemed to be well off. No one chasing their asses all over the galaxy for wormhole information that John could not provide, for now.

"Dad, wake up!" Little D'Argo was an eager growing boy, constantly learning from his big man.

"Little D, it's early. Give me a few more microts."

"You said you'd teach me about flying the module today."

Keeping his eyes closed, John rolled over in bed to face his wife. "Why is he so stubborn," he asked rhetorically.

"He's your son," Aeryn answered still half asleep.

"Yeah but he gets it from you." John let out a sigh. "Alright, but we gotta get dressed and get something to eat first."

"On it Pops!" D'Argo took off to his quarters to get dressed for the day.

John sat up and leaned over his wife to kiss her. "I blame the Sebacean genes."

"Ah yes well you know us Sebaceans are far more genetically superior than humans."

"Oh is that so?" he kissed her and she let out a soft chuckle.

"Mhmm."

Their brief moment was interrupted by Little D himself. "Dad, c'mon."

"I'm coming, I'm coming..."

D'Argo sat in the front seat on his dad's lap in the module, "can I do it?"

John hesitated, not sure if D'Argo was old enough yet to try out operating his module. He could hear his own father, Jack, telling him to let go of the reigns and let him have a shot.

"Okay bud, but take it slow. And don't forget to-,"

"-to make sure I push this lever forward after I hear the beep because if I don't it will stall the steering."

John was impressed at the young boy's ability to absorb and recall the information just given to him, but then again he did take after his mother (as Aeryn would say).

"Dad, what's that?" D'Argo looked straight ahead of him.

"What's what Little D?" John asked while looking at the readings from his module.

"That," D'Argo pointed in front of him when suddenly a wormhole formed.

John froze. His mind was going a mile a minute. How did his son know about the wormhole that just formed before them? Einstein took the wormhole knowledge back after John had used it to prove that wormholes shouldn't be used as weapons during the Peacekeeper Wars. All he had left of the knowledge was what he started out with when he first flew through one, which was very little.

"Dad?" D'Argo asked bringing John back into focus.

"Uh, that...is a wormhole, buddy."

"A what?"

"A wormhole. It allows for travel to and from locations anywhere in the universe. D'Argo, how- how did you know that a wormhole was going to form there?"

D'Argo shrugged his shoulders, "I dunno I just did."

"Okay hop in the back co-pilot. We gotta get back to Moya." John lifted D'Argo over his head and into the back seat of his module.

"Aww Dad, do we have to?"

"Don't argue with me. Now buckle up."

Aeryn was waiting for John and D'Argo in the docking bay. John got out of his module, picked D'Argo up, and sat him down on the ground. The boy ran towards his mom and greeted her with a hug, "hi mom," then took off to go play, "bye mom."

"Hi?" Aeryn giggled confusingly.

Aeryn walked over to John who was leaning over his module with both hands in deep thought. She could tell something was on his mind. She put a hand on one of his shoulders.

"You're back early."

"Aeryn..." John paused, then dropped his head and sighed. "We got a problem," he said defeatedly.

She didn't speak, just waited anxiously for him to explain.

John stood up and faced Aeryn.

"Our son-," he sighed again, "our son can predict wormholes."

Aeryn thought John had gone completely fahrbot. She couldn't even find words to respond.

John tried his best to explain what had just happened.

"When we were out flying around, D'Argo asked me what that was and when I looked up a wormhole appeared, right in front of us. Aeryn, he knows."

"No, no. Are you sure?"

John clenched his jaw and shook his head yes.

"John, if Scorpius- if anyone found out about-."

He ran a hand through his hair wearily. "I know, I know."

Aeryn's eyes glistened as tears began to form in her eyes at the realization of what repercussions could follow. She tried to regain herself and swallowed hard, "so what do we do now?"

John shook his head in defeat, "I don't know."

A tear rolled down her cheek as she tried to rationalize a plan of action, "we can hide him. Hide him from everyone. He can stay with Chiana until we can be sure he's safe." Her speech got faster as her mind raced with every worst case scenario. "Scorpius is going to know. He's going to find out John and when he does he'll take D'Argo and- and use him to gain the wormhole knowledge he needs in order to enslave the galax-,"

John cut her off and looked her in the eyes. "NO, Scorpy is NOT going to take him. I won't let that happen. We won't let that happen."

"What do you suggest we do then, John?"

John turned away from Aeryn and held his head as he tried to come up with a decent plan. "I need more time to think."

"That's the problem, John. We don't have the time. We never have enough frelling time!"

Pilot's voice came over the comms.

"Sorry to interrupt, but sensors indicate that a marauder is approaching Moya."

Aeryn and John looked at each other, both knowing exactly who it was.

"Scorpius," John uttered under his breath as he stomped off towards command.

"Pilot can we starburst?" Aeryn asked.

"I'm afraid not. The ship is already in range."

John turned to Aeryn, "go find D'Argo, get in your prowler, and go."

"John, we're not leaving you."

John knew Aeryn was stubborn, but now was not the time. "It's the only way we can keep him away from Scorpius."

As much as she didn't want to split up, she knew John was right.

"I'm not saying goodbye John Crichton." Aeryn stated.

"I wouldn't want you to Aeryn Sun." John grinned and kissed Aeryn goodbye. "Keep our boy safe."
