John anxiously waited for the smoke to clear from the landing. To no surprise of his own, Scorpius in his black leather coolant suit stepped out of the ship. John moved his hand closer to Winona for easy access if Scorpius and his crew tried to pull anything.
"John Crichton, I must say I am delighted to see you."
"Can't say the feeling is mutual. What are you doing here Scorpy?"
Scorpius looked around the ship taking a few steps towards John.
"Am I not allowed to make a trip to visit my favorite human?" he asked sarcastically.
John scoffed at Scorpius' reply, "ya know it's one thing for you to have your little clone in my head all the damn time, but actually having you here-," John bit his lip, "...no NO, I don't want you here."
"Oh but you see John, you need me. Your son needs me." Scorpius stated matter of factly.
John bit his lip again, this time a bit harder. He advanced towards Scorpius, ready to lay his hands on the Scarran half-breed.
"You leave my son out of this," John threatened.
Scorpius held his hands up, "I'm just trying to warn you John."
John's patience was growing thin, "warn me about what?"
_____________________________________Aeryn ran around Moya trying to locate her son. She quietly shouted his name and turning a corner, she found him on the ground playing with 1812.
"D'Argo, c'mon we have to leave. Right now." She gave him a serious look.
D'Argo knew when his parents weren't playing around, especially his mother. She picked him up and began carrying him towards her and John's quarters to pack a few things before taking off.
"Mama, what's wrong?"
"D'Argo, what did you see when you were out flying with Daddy?"
"You mean the wormhole?" D'Argo was confused why his mother would bring up something irrelevant to his original question.
"How long have you been able to do that?"
D'Argo shrugged his shoulders, still confused why his mother wasn't answering the original question. "Uh I'm not sure. I've felt them before but they never showed up until today. Mom where are we going?"
Aeryn shoved some items in a bag and zipped it up. "Somewhere."
"Where?"
"Don't ask questions right now. Come with me."
Aeryn pulled the bag she packed onto her shoulder and led D'Argo to her prowler.
______________________________________Scorpius put his hands behind his back and slowly circled around John menacingly. "Warn you about the Scarrans. I know about your son's...abilities. And soon, the Scarrans will know too."
John didn't respond, just waited for Scorpius to elaborate further.
"Oh, and I would tell Officer Sun that leaving Moya would endanger all of your lives."
Furious, John pushed Scorpius against the wall with his hands. "Get. The. Hell. Off. My. Ship."
"Don't say I didn't warn you John."
John groaned angrily, released his grip on Scorpius, and gave him a shove towards the exit.
Scorpius walked towards his ship looking back at John, "the Scarrans will kill D'Argo if they get the chance. They'll do anything to get their hands on the wormhole knowledge."
Scorpius' ship started up and left the docking bay. John knew Scorpius was right and to be honest as much as he didn't trust Scorpius, D'Argo would probably be safer in he hands of Scorpy than the Scarrans.
John sighed and reached for his comm. "Aeryn?"
"John?"
"Scorpy's gone. Have you left yet?"
"Just about."
John started walking back towards Pilot's den. "Abort. Meet me in Pilot's den."
______________________________________"Commander, is everything alright?" Pilot inquired as he could only ease drop so much on John and Scorpius' conversation using the DRDs.
"I'm not sure Pilot," John said beaten.
Aeryn entered the den.
"Hello Officer Sun," Pilot greeted.
"Hello Pilot."
She made her way over to John who gave her head a kiss. "Hey baby. Where's Little D?"
"With 1812 in his quarters. We've got some explaining to do. I didn't get a chance to tell him what was going on, and frankly I don't even know where I would start."
"If I may, Commander I have some footage of your work with wormholes. It is not much, however I think it may be of assistance to you and Aeryn when you explain the situation to D'Argo."
"You do Pilot?!" John climbed over Pilot's control panel.
"Yes," Pilot replied.
John cupped Pilot's face as best he could and gave him a kiss on the forehead. "Pilot you've done it again big guy!"
"I am not sure what you mean John, but I will send the footage to your quarters for review."
______________________________________John and Aeryn stood outside of their son's quarters, trying to establish what all they would tell the boy. He was barely 5 after all and some details were just not appropriate for him to know. The Peacekeeper in Aeryn disagreed with that part, but she trusted John and what he thought was best.
"Did we ever tell him about his name? I mean now that he is old enough to remember if we told him. Newborns don't necessarily have the best memory, at least human babies." John asked.
Aeryn thought back to the day the two officially gave their son his name, D'Argo Sun Crichton. Named after the great General Ka D'Argo who was lost during the Peacekeeper Wars. Both their eyes slightly teared up as they remembered their old friend.
"I don't think we have."
They both gave a soft smile to each other.
"What did Scorpius tell you?" Aeryn's smile faded as she asked John.
John sighed, wanting to forget that conversation and pretend today hadn't even happened. As he opened his mouth to speak, a little voice interrupted their conversation.
"Who's Scor-pos-us?" D'Argo asked, completely butchering his name.
John turned around and smiled as he reached out to ruffle D'Argo's hair.
"Hey hey Little D. Come here, your Mom and I got something to tell you."
D'Argo walked over to his parents and John picked him up. Aeryn smiled watching the two, nine cycles ago she never would have thought she'd be here. She loved him and their little family. Three wasn't a scary number and neither was four or five. They took D'Argo into his quarters to tell him about wormholes and answer his questions.
