I followed him out the door and we walked for a while then got to the light rail. I was very confused, apparently he could see it on my face because he just smiled and pulled me on to the train. He already was uncovering so much about him and I didn't understand how me saying I wanted to know him made him want to show me, I honestly didn't, but I also didn't care because I was getting to know who he was.

On the train I just kinda stared at him squinting my eyes trying to get him to tell me where we were going. "I'm not telling you!" He said laughing, shredding off more of this Mask he wears to guard himself.
"You're difficult." I said turning around smiling. He just laughed.
The train ride felt like 4 hours long, but it was okay because for those minuets in the train, everything stopped in the world. It was just Connor and I. For a while we just stared at each other, but I think Connor realized he was starting to unlock his guard, so he broke our gaze and got ready to get off the train. I couldnt think much of it because a few minutes later he pulled me off of the train. We were in Downtown Denver Colorado. A place I hadn't been in since a girl because people told stories of how dangerous it was. I hesitated to continue our journey, but Connor reassured me with a faint smile.

We started walking the city and sirens were everywhere, and I'm pretty sure I heard a gunshot or two, but Connor lead me quickly up to this old building. He stopped for a second frowning, looking like he was about to turn back, but for some reason he lead me up to what was the 9th floor, then took me to room 921b. He opened it up and looked at me very nervously. This was his place. This was where he lived.

As I walked in it smelled of burnt toast, and you could hear the sound of buzzing flies. As I looked to my left a cute, but worn down table sat on the wall, and the kitchen a few steps ahead of it. To my right was a room, with a lady in her mid 30s passed out on a couch with MTV in the background. She looked much like the table, cute but worn down and not stable at all. Connor pulled me to the back room, his room. He actually had a very nice room. Nice furniture.
"So here's the first thing you get to know about me. The shit place I live in." he explained.
"Why are you showing me this? Why are you unraveling yourself to me?" I said sounding more harsh then I meant to.
He was silent for a moment, which made me feel awful, but then he spoke, "Like I said you are the first person to ever care about me. I have to care for my mother every day, she's a mess. Sleeps 3/4 of the day. The one nice thing she's ever done for me was get me this furniture in my room, she stole it, which I couldn't stand, so I never sleep in this room. I sleep on the streets and shower here. I used to work 5 jobs, but my moms boyfriend is an okay guy to her and I'm pretty sure he's only staying because he feels bad, and he supports her. He's a pretty wealthy man, but he's taking it a day at a time on us. He likes my mom because she has drugs and is the only woman that will have sex with him, so he looks out for her, Not so much for me. He says I need to act like an adult and get a job. They both ignore me most of the time. I'm just kind of here, and did I mention I have to pay my rent here, and if I don't, I'm kicked out. So yes, it means the world that you care. ABOUT ME!"

I was silent. That was our thing, to silently stare at each other. Then I hugged him tightly, and this time he didn't hesitate to hug me back. I kissed him on the cheek, and he left the room and cane back with two sodas. Within the first 5 sips he pored the soda all over his sweater. "Shit!" he murmured. I tried to help him clean up, but he finally decided to take his shirt off. As he pulled it off he was ripped. He has bruises decorated all over, and scars like nobody's business.
"My step dad has quite the temper. He has brain washed my mom into thinking hitting is a good discipline. Beer bottles, belts, so many things I've been hit with."
" You need to tell someone con..." I was interrupted by his steps closer to me grabbing me.
"Maddie. No I can't, you can't. Social services would take me away in a heart beat. I just need to get through the year, I'll be 18 soon and I can leave, Without my stepdad/ moms boyfriend tracking me down."
I nodded and ran my fingers up his chest. Studying each part of him. He had tattoos too. A bird on his chest. A beast on his right arm, and a heart beat on his left wrist. I didn't ask because everything escalated so quickly. I went from studying his chest to us on his queen bed. We were kissing. He was laying on the bed, and I was straddled over him. He started to take off my shirt, and I was wearing a cute lace bra. Thank you God, I thought. He was kissing my neck and rubbing my back. He went to unhook my bra and I stopped him. Told him I wasn't ready. He understood, and just kept kissing my neck, Drake wouldn't of cared, he wouldn't unhooked my bra anyway. But, with Connor he just nodded his head and went back to kissing me, it wasn't awkward or anything. It was perfect. He was so perfect. We didn't get fully undressed, because technically if this was a date, It was the first, and everything had already happened so fast, I didn't need to loose my V card too.
We lay in his bed for a while. Then decided to get dressed because it was getting late. 6:15 read my clock. As we started to head out of his room, the front door unlocked. It was a very angry man. I was guessing it was his moms boyfriend. Apparently I was right.

(Hope you guys like it so far! Just btw Downtown Denver isn't as creepy as I described )
