Jack knew that Brooklyn will go far in life, one day.
The Irish boy knew that one day, the brunette will be able to perform in real amphitheaters and big arenas, with more than billions of fans, under a thousand lights---singing songs he'd written from his heart.
And it breaks Jack's heart to know that one day, he wouldn't be with Brooklyn anymore...
Because one day, he will be forgotten.
"Jack, what's wrong?"
The pale Irish boy was pulled away from his deep trance, back to the present, finally looking away from the oak tree outside, where he was previously staring at.
He glanced up to see Brooklyn who was fixing his bag, looking at him with a concerned gaze.
They were now twelve years old, almost thirteen, and Jack couldn't believe they've been friends until now.
"Nothing," Jack muttered with a faint smile.
'The smaller brunette laid his bag on the foot of his bed, and approached his troubled friend.
"Shut up, you aren't. You're crying," Brooklyn sat opposite of him, hands scurrying up on his face to wipe the unknowing tears that were pouring down the Irish boy's cheeks.
"I don't know why I am, though," Jack said with all honesty.
He looked up to the bedside clock, and cleared his throat as he wiped away the stubborn tears forming at the corner of his eyes.
"I'm going to miss you," the tall boy said and Brooklyn smiled slightly, and hugged his friend.
"Me too," the older brunette whispered quietly. "But, I've got to go now. I'll tell you everything about it, later."
Today was the day that Brooklyn is going to a real school with other kids, after long years of being homeschooled.
"Goodbye, Jack!"
Jack could only watch Brooklyn walk towards the awaiting school bus through the bedroom window.
The smaller brunette looked behind and glanced up at him to give him a final smile, before the bus doors closed and run off towards school.
At that moment, Jack knew that something changed.
