Jawn :- The Name

              

              The forest was numb already while the bats fluttered around creating some dreadful noise. The animals were all asleep except Zus. He was still hoping to catch his dinner, "A fat squirrel and a couple fruits should be enough." He thought to himself. His food bag was slung around his neck, he hoped it would be filled before retiring for the night.

He stopped for a moment when he heard a sound ahead. He thought he had finally caught himself a prey. He quickly hid behind a tree waiting for the foot step to come closer. He scratched his claw multiple times so as to use it to hold the prey. He was getting impatient and decided to peep from where he was hiding to see the prey coming. He peeped slowly and was about to get a clearer view when a sword pierced his left eye. He roared in anguish as he held unto his injury. He managed to remove the sword and threw it far from him. He was in excruciating pain and was extremely shocked when he saw Zyne standing above him.

"Zyne! You did this!" Zus queried in anger through clenched teeth.

"I could remember telling everyone to stay indoors when the moon is out. You seem to be rebellious." Zyne retorted as he grabbed his sword and speedily stabbed Zus right in the neck.

Zyne looked at Zus's lifeless body on the floor and spat on it. He cleaned his sword with Zus's corpse and returned it to its sheath.
He walked with pride as he swung his tail left and right, when he heard the cry of a baby. He was surprised but at the same time cautious for it could be a trap.

He mustered courage and moved closer to where the sound was coming from and found a small baby girl laid down in an old basket.

"Who could have done such a thing?" He thought to himself as he looked around to see if someone was watching. He picked the child up to get a closer view and Surprisingly, it was a human child. He felt so happy because he never had a child and always wished he could have a human child.

He looked at her as she smiled at him and he called her "Sissy".

Six years later....

Sissy was outside playing with the squirrels. She has been brought up amidst animals and hybrids (part animal- part human) like Zyne.

Zyne's mother was impregnated by a deer. So he was born in a modern hospital having a deer leg and human body. His mother sadly rejected him and took him to the forest for his father to see him. He was happily accepted by his father and trained by his father and the hyenas. He learnt how to behave like a human from an human Hunter who was a friend to the deer. His father, was killed in a forest attack while he was saved by the hunter. He got angry after seeing his dead father and killed the hunter. Ever since then, he hated humans and he ruled over the forest. He was out in the human city one day wearing a garment that covered his legs. He saw a lot that day and also learnt a lot. A little kid saw him and realized he was an hybrid, but he promised to be quiet and be friends with Zyne. He made Zyne love kids which was a reason Zyne loved Sissy.

"Sissy." Zyne called out from inside a cave where they live.

"Yes papa, I am coming." She answered as she left the squirrels and ran inside.

Zyne always loved to see her smile and be happy so he carried her up and tickled her many times. She laughed and laughed until he dropped her. At the age of four, she could walk so humanly and brave. Zyne already taught her to fight animals with different techniques. Although, she could not handle a sword but could fight anyone using it.

"Lunch is ready, let us eat." Zyne said as he gave her a loaf of bread and a cup of tea.

"Thank you Papa. Can we go and hunt after our dinner, pleasssseeee?" She begged with her charming dimples.
