The Challenge: A Laya Fanfiction:
Maya's POV:
I woke up the next morning to someone screaming on my bed. "Ava!!" I groaned. Ava is my bratty cousin, and apparently she has to wake me up everyday."Can't you learn to wake people up in a normal one?" I'm not a morning person. Not even at all.
"Nope." Ava said in her bratty tone.
I sighed and laid back in bed. Five minutes won't hurt...
I was drifting off when Ava yelled again, "you have to take me to see Auggie!!"
My eyes shot open and I glanced at my clock on the side.
"CRAP!! IM GONNA BE LATE!!"
I jumped out of bed and threw some clothes.
"You said a bad word!!" Ava said.
"Ava shut up."
"MOM!!" Ava ran off.
I sighed and stuffed my books into my backpack. That's when I realized my zipper to my backpack broke. Yep today has started great!!
"Aunt Becky??" I made it down the stairs to see Aunt Becky making Ava some breakfast.
"Yes??" She said, realizing I got a late start. "I can drive you to school honey."
"I need a new backpack. My zipper broke." I said.
Aunt Becky bit her lip. She walked over to the coat closet and pulled out a hello kitty backpack. You have got to be kidding me.
"Sorry it's the only backpack we have. We can go out this weekend and get a new one."
I sighed, knowing I had no choice. I grabbed the backpack and started up the stairs. "And you might wanna change shoes!" Aunt Becky said.
I looked down to see my old ratty slippers on my feet. "Thanks Aunt Becky!" I ran up the stairs. Today was gonna be a long day.
