Mrinu is her parents only child... her father has always worked as a gardener for the Chatujje Sadan... Mrinu has grown up in the backyard of that huge palatial house... her favourite playmate the cat of her lofty neighbours. Mini... the kitten was a gift for Mrinu from Biren. She who had hardly ever had the audacity to speak in front of people, or even look in their eyes ... had a secret that she harboured within her soul. BIREN KUMAR GANGULY

A calm shrewd guy who has been living in the CHATTUJJE SADAN for more than half of his life. But he is not related to them. Chatterjees were his father's best friend and business partner. Moloy kaka was his favourite among the Chatterjees... Rest of the family was close to him but they were nothing like the one he can call his family. Their three kids were all younger to him but their eldest daughter Choyonika was the bane of his existence. She was simply crazy for him. His life has had many tragic incidents. He had lost both of his parents and his brother in an accident. He had been only ten. But now he had someone whom he considered his family his whole world... But will he able to reach within time... Or will he lose her in one swipe of fate...

Choyonika Chatterjee

Moloy and Shubra Chatterjees eldest child... She has only one dream to live a life king size. For this life she has chosen Biren Ganguly as her target. A boring guy according to Choyonika's standard, but he was not only loaded but belonged to Kolkatta's one of the richest and oldest families.  Everyone who was who's who of the elites list of Kolkatta new of him and his family. But she felt she had the first right on him as her father was the best friend and partner of his father. Also, all her friends already assumed they will obviously marry someday, because Biren should pay off for the favour Moloy and Shubhra did by keeping him with them when he was orphaned. 

Jalsaghar - The famous House of the Ganguly's. People said that girls could kill to just be the hostess of that house. Choyonika though treated it as it already belonged to her. And she often dreamed of hosting events and parties there. But Biren saw it differently, it was the house of his ancestors. The culmination of their hard-work, culture,  growth and faiths. It was a place where every wall and every tall columns spoke of his family stories and memories. Only Mrinu understood what it meant to him. And he protected it as jealously from unwanted attention as he protected his thoughts and dreams some of which he has never even shared with Mrinu. He will tell her all some day....

Moloy Chatterjee

Moloy is a happy go lucky person very shrewd businessman and a wonderful person. But he was not unaware of his daughter and wife's desire to get Biren to marry Choyonika. She was after all his daughter and he ofcourse wanted whatever was best for her. But he was sometimes a bit worried about Choyonika's obsession with Mrinu and her position in Biren's life. For Moloy she was just a servant's daughter who should not be given so much of thoughts. Mrinu was as harmless as they came according to him.

Shubra Chatterjee

Among all the Chatterjees, Shubhra was the one whose adherence towards the society status and stature mattered the most. That is why, she was most interested in Biren and Choyonika's marriage. She also knew her daughter inside out. And always covered up for any apparent flaws she might show to Biren. He was a quiet guy, but like Choyonika Shubhra had no false notions about his intelligence or shrewdness. So Shubhra tried her best sugar coating in front of Biren though she hated Mrinu and his relationship and always gave Mrinu hard time in her own way.
