Closing time came and just a s promised Jesse was there waiting for her. He introduced her to the guys and they headed to his bike.
"Ever road a motorcycle before?" Jesse asked her.
"Nope, but I'm glad my first time is with you." Why did she say that?
Jesse handed her his helmet and they road off towards the beach. They picked a nice spot to relax on the beach and watch the waves.
Jesse turned to McKinley-Leigh. "Stay here, I'll be right back."
"Ok?" She said confused as to where he was going.
Five minutes he returned with a case of beers in one hand and a pack of cigarettes in the other.
"Jesse you know I could have gotten us beer from the bar ... where I work ... where we were just at?" McKinley said laughing.
He sat down beside her and opened a beer for her. "I know."
"So, you're in a band?" She asked the black haired man.
"Yeah, how'd you like the show?"
"Your voice is incredible Jesse." She stared into his eyes mesmerized. Jesse leaned forward and kissed her. "You're incredible babygirl."
McKinley blushed and turned away. Jesse grabbed her face and made her look at him. "Don't hide from me." He kissed her again.
McKinley had never felt like this before. How could she become so attached to a person she barely knew? What was it about Jesse that made everything feel okay even if it wasn't? His gentle touch. His sweet voice. His masterpiece of a body. Jesse was perfect to her.
They enjoyed the their time at the beach. Letting the waves hit their legs and running through the sand. They talked about their dreams for the future. Life.
Jesse drove McKinley to her apartment and walked her to the door. Seconds after they pulled up a black car with tinted windows pulled up and a man got out and rushed towards the two.
"I knew I'd find you here." Said the man. He was shady looking to say the least.
Jesse stepped in front of McKinley who was clearly scared. "Leave. Not here." Jesse said in a low angry voice.
"Actually I'm tired of waiting. So, here's what's going to happen. You're going to come with me and we're going to settle this." The man said pulling out a knife.
"Not today." Jesse walked towards the man. The man attempted to cut Jesse with the knife but he ducked and hit him in his ribcage. He continued to beat the man until he couldn't stand anymore. "Get in your car and leave." Jesse said.
The man knew he stood no chance staying to fight so he did as he was told. "This isn't over, J. You've just made a big mistake." The man said driving away.
Jesse turned towards McKinley who had tears rolling down her face. She was so scared.
"What is going on?" She said taking a step back from Jesse.
His face softened. He didn't want her to be afraid of him. It pained him to see her look at him like that. "Baby there's things about me you wouldn't understand. It's better that you don't know. Just know this, I will always keep you safe. I would never hurt you babygirl." Jesse walked slowly towards the girl and this time she didn't step back. He embraced her in a hug.
"Jesse I was so scared." She said hugging him back.
He pulled away from the hug and grabbed her face. "Hey, I got you. Always."
Jesse walked McKinley up to her apartment door. She offered for him to come in but he declined. "I have some things I need to take care of. I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"
"I'd like that." She said once again staring into his beautiful dark eyes.
Jesse kissed her one last time. "Sweet dreams babygirl."
