Golden Kitten

GIVING UP

Jaebum stayed as he promised, he sat beside the hybrid watching him peacefully sleeping, he would caresses his golden hair, rub his flat ears, pet and tries to comb his fluffy brownish tail with his fingers then carefully tucked it under the blanket, and he would smile whenever he did something and the kitten hums and leans to his touches satisfied in his sleep.

Along during petting, the kitten stirred in his sleep and he instantly jerked awake, frantically looking around himself,

" go back to sleep little kitten, he's not here"

Jaebum spoke up and the hybrid snapped his head towards the sound, when he saw Jaebum his tears rolled down his cheeks, and he moved crawling towards Jaebum, wincing in pain he cautiously sat on his knees in front of Jaebum, his tail laying sadly flat next to his body, it looked like he wanted to make sure if this mister is real or not, because after he sat he glued his teary eyes on Jaebum's face examining him, with clenched heart Jaebum raised his hand and whipped his tears,

" it's okay, I'm here now "

Jaebum weakly smiled, his tears almost failing him and slipping off his eyes.

The little kitten sniffled and looked down

" w-will you really h-help m-me m-mister?"

The kitten whispered with shaky, weak, and defeated voice, Jaebum was so heartbroken that he couldn't speak, because if he spoke his voice will fail him and he will breakdown, so he just lifted his right hand up in an attempt to pet the Kitten, tho the kitten must've felt Jaebum's struggling that instead of letting Jaebum pets him he softly and adorably bumped his head against Jaebum's hand few times, Jaebum's heart melted watching the loving kitty and he scratched between the Kitten's ears and around them, the kitten immediately leaned and unconsciously purred to the gentle scratching, and he instantly covered his mouth with his hand embarrassed, a blush painted his already red cheeks.

The kitten slowly peeked up glancing to Jaebum, but when he saw him softly smiling he tugged his head down and then laid back again,  just before he closes his eyes he hesitantly reached his hand in front of Jaebum wanting him to hold it, but Jaebum looked at his hand confused, the hybrid thought Jaebum didn't want to and started pulling his hand away upset, closing his eyes afterwards, that moment Jaebum understood what the hybrid wanted and he nervously but gently reached and grabbed the hybrid's small soft hands who flinched surprised but then relaxed and held on to it without opening his eyes, he tugged both of their hands under his cheek, a very small adorable smile crept to his face and it lasted only for seconds, Jaebum's eyes finally let the tears free, the thought of how affectionate and pure this hybrid is, shatters his heart, yet all this hybrid gets was pain and suffering, he only wanted to be loved and cared for, but humans only gave him torture and abandon, Jaebum let his tears fall continuously as he stroked the hybrid's cheek one more time,

" I will help you " Jaebum stated.

Tho it was just couple of hours staying with the hybrid but Jaebum's heart started to get attached to him and he wanted to be near him, he felt the need to care for him.

Treating his wounds, watching him sleeping, feeding and petting him made Jaebum wants to protect him from this cruel world and from this hardhearted man, not because he's just too adorable and squishy but because he's too precious and innocent and he deserves a better life, he deserves to be loved and safe not tortured and lonely, Jaebum's thumb was lovingly stroking the Kitten's red cheek as his other hand tenderly played with his golden strands and his admiring eyes shifted between his small skinny body and his baby looking face, while a million thoughts were racing inside his head.

Cutting his train of thoughts and those precious moments, Jaebum heard the old man's car engine by the door then it stopped and he heard the car's door shutting closed, once the old man slammed his garden's door open then stepped inside and saw Jaebum, his face turned red and he stormed towards the sleeping kitten, Jaebum quickly stood up in front of him,
