SORRY for the typos I didn't have time to edit because I wanted to publish it as soon as possible!

I sat there watching but my attention was on Marwan. Since last week Monday things have been seriously uncomfortable. He always has a plastered frown on his face. Being in this twisted relationship doesn't affect him alone and I know I shouldn't be selfish and make this about me but that's the only way I feel better... By blaming someone else.

He now has a permanent frown on his face and I can't help but feel it's because of me, I make our lives difficult and though it wasn't my intention to. I just prefer to hurt others before they hurt me.

I groan and stand. He looks up at me blankly.
"I'm going to sleep. Goodnight"

He nods and continues working on his laptop.

I sleepy go upstairs to my room and lie down. I need to rest we both do, I'll just do him the honor of staying in my room all day, he deserves at least that much.

.......

"Afrar!" he calls me "Wake up"
I groan "What?" I ask sitting up rubbing my sleepy eyes to see clearer.

"My mum is coming over for lunch and if its her she can be here any moment"

I blink at him thinking of my ruined weekend, my plan to go ballistic after hearing this news went down the drain when I really looked at him. He looks pale, tired and exhausted. He has eye bags around his eyes, he looked stressed and weak.

"You okay?" I ask.
"I'm fine" he walks out.

After throwing my tantrums by rolling and kicking on the bed, I got dressed.

I walk downstairs and see Marwan still using his laptop, you could smell his cologne from a mile away

I walk downstairs and see Marwan still using his laptop, you could smell his cologne from a mile away.
"I already ordered something" he says without even looking back to look at me.

I nod even though he doesn't see me.
I sit across, watching him.

Not even a bath could hide his exhaustion and lack of rest and honestly I don't like seeing him like this, I don't want to see anyone like this.

After taking a deep breath I walk over and pick up his laptop from his lap. He raises his head looking at me like I was insane.

"No I'm not insane I know what I did. Have you seen yourself in the mirror?"

"You expect me to put on make up like you do?"

"My face does not look like this because of makeup. It's because I make sure I get a lot of rest unlike you.....obviously"

"Are you comparing fashion to--" I cut him off.

"It's not but you need rest. Even if it's just for an hour please sleep. You'll pass out if you continue overworking yourself" I say calmy.

He stares at me for a few seconds before looking away nodding slowly.
He stands "Just save that for me" he says pointing to the laptop.

I smile "I will. Just go to your room and sleep" I slowly push him towards the stairs.

"Wake me when my mother gets here"

"I will"

And with that he was out of sight, I just really hopes he sleeps. I'll just check up on him in a few minutes.

I sat down shaking my legs and smiling, I feel really good about doing this for him maybe it's for us. This way he'll realise I care its just that I am complicated.
The door bell rings and I can guess who it was.

Before I got up Marwan's mother walks in smiling widely.

She sits.
"Where is Marwan?"

"He's not feeling well so he's sleeping".

"Of course he took something he couldn't handle".

"Let me get you your food" I say dismissing the trash she just said about my husband.

After eating she slouches on the couch and huffs. "You know what just wake that boy, I need to talk to him now"

"I'm sorry Mama but he hasn't slept in days and the doctor told him to rest".

She looks at me with her eyebrows raised.
"So you're not going to call him?" she asks.

"I was thinking maybe he and I can come see you tomorrow dama I have something for you but I left it at the office".

She smiles. "Really? What is it?"
"It's custom made, just for my mother in law"

"Oh really? Then let him rest, anyway I think I should go now. I'll see you two tomorrow"

........

After escorting her out I came back in to meet Marwan on the couch.

"Did you just wake up?" I ask.
"No. When I woke up she was eating so I just went back".

I fall on the couch sloppily. "I'm exhausted"
"So we have to see her tomorrow?"

"Yeah unfortunately".

"And you have to come up with something to give her".

"Yeah"
"It's okay. Let's go upstairs"

I nod and walk ahead.
