March 10, 2019 6:30 P.M. Cammy Meele's Basement
Cammy fidgeted with the paper in her hands. She was waiting for her fellow smugglers to come to the secret meeting in her basement. Where were they? Crap. They weren't texting her. Were there Interpol agents in her house, spying? These were the kinds of questions smugglers had to ask themselves almost every day. She hears a familiar knock on her basement door. Oh, her leader! They were here! Their meeting goes as normal, until the very end. The leader said he had an important announcement, and everyone listened closely. "Ok, so those Interpol agents are after us again." Everyone collectively sighed. They all hated Interpol. They were extreme rivals, any agents from opposing forces exchanging glances of anger. When you suspected someone was an Interpol agent, you were expected to run. They were extremely aware. Quick. Sneaky. Stalkers. Everyone dreaded them. The leader continued. "And, guess what. They've got the two best in the world after us." Oh no. This wasn't good. Everyone looked at each other with this "We're so screwed" look. "Uhm, so one of them is from Zheng Fa. He goes arrest crazy. Arrests anyone the least bit suspicious. Many innocents are arrested because of him. Highest arrest rate in the world." He said. Cammy raised her hand to ask a question. No one knew what Zheng Fa even was. "Yes, Cammy?" "Erm... what country is the other from?" The leader paused before answering. "Borginia" he said reluctantly. Everyone in the room shrieked in terror. "Yes. he's the one. The one that all smugglers have been afraid of. No one comes back after running into him. They're all sentenced to death and kept in Borginia. No one knows who he is. No one knows what he looks like. No one knows how he arrests them. Until they go and get arrested. Legend has it his charm is so irresistible you can't help but trust him immediately." He finished in a serious tone. Cammy was informed that they could be anywhere, lurking around. She had no idea what to expect. Would she be blind sighted like all the smugglers before her, or would she be immune? She had so many questions, with no idea what to do.
March 10, 2019 9:30 P.M. Interpol HQ Inc. Borginia North Office Complex
Akbey Hicks brushed his hair. His hair was his most valued possession. He had never cut it once. It somehow stayed at one perfect length, hardly growing anymore. He tried to remember his family, but he couldn't. That was the one thing that set him apart from everyone else. They all remembered family, school, playing, childhood. Yet Akbey seemed to have absolutely no memories of being anything else but an Interpol agent. Everyone else did. Everyone started when they were 10. That's just how it worked in Borginia. They closely evaluated every child, to see if they would stay at home and have a normal job, go to the military, or if they had special traits they would become an Interpol agent. Everyone got their jobs at 10. They all remembered being specially selected, but Akbey could remember nothing about that at all. However, he would sometimes have strange dreams. Everyone would point at him and laugh and say he didn't look like them, and that he didn't belong. He always just tried to ignore this. It meant nothing, he would tell himself. "Akbey!" A familiar female voice screamed behind him. "Shih-Na? How did you get here?" Akbey asked with confusion. "I just rode the elevator to the top floor." Shih-Na said. "Why're you here?" Akbey asked. "Well, the manager wants to talk to you. Probably wants you to travel again even though you just got back today." Shih-Na said. Akbey sighed. He probably had to travel more than anyone else. Always on a crazy adventure, with no time to just play on his phone. He wanted one day, just ONE day to just play Fortnite and argue with 7 year olds. He always said that if they killed him he would come to their house and they would be arrested. He always won. Akbey got up and walked to the elevator, and Shih-Na shouted, "I'll organize your papers! Bye!" When he got to his boss's office, his boss already had a stack of papers ready for him. Akbey knew he would have to look over those before his flight. He could never sleep. "Agent Hicks, it's the smuggling ring again. They're after you. You will work with Shi Long Lang, as you work extremely well together, and a prosecutor. Akbey was not surprised that Shi was assigned to work with him. Shi Long Lang was his best friend and was fiercely protective of him. Shi is a very tough and arrogant kind of guy, while Akbey was more smart and thoughtful. But Akbey has never worked with a prosecutor before. Who is she? He was wondering about her. "Here's her phone number. She's expecting you to call her at 4 A.M. tomorrow morning. Your flight leaves tomorrow in the early afternoon. Don't be late. do the normal, you know, use your ID to get through the security. You know the drill. Alright, have fun. I expect to see your name in the newspaper for arresting the whole smuggling ring. Good luck. Don't disappoint me. Goodbye." The boss turned his chair back around to continue with the Garfield show marathon.
Note from the author: Oops, sorry. I really don't want to overload this story, so I guess I'll end this part here. I guess this is going to be more of a series. Sorry! This is just the way I like to write. So, I will try to be done with this series by next Friday. I will try to post another chapter this weekend. After this series, I will continue with the Cammy story. As always, you are welcome to vote, comment, and maybe even follow! Have a nice day! See you soon!
Question to answer in the comments: What do you think about me expanding Akbey's character? Do you like it? Do you hate him because he isn't a main character? Be sure to give your opinion down below.
