She rose and shone
Bright and alone
While stars twinkled
Pink and tickled
The moon stood, solitarily lone.
While the sun blushed
And produced her rays
And warmed the earth
While she was praised
The moon remained, isolatedly free
Comets and planets created awe
When they circled and moved
Appeared and beamed
Then passed from view
The moon awaits, separatedly one
There were fourths and halfs
And fulls and new
And once in a while
She'll be gazed upon
But she stays, she stays, exclusively sole.
