"ah! fUCK! are you crazy! do you really wanna die?" richie traded his goofy 'voices' out for a yell.

eddie took off his mask and snorted. "you should've seen the look on your face!"

richie huffed. "what the hell ed's."

"well made right?" eddie flipped it around in his hand. "bill gave it to me."

"who's bill?" richie scrunches his nose. "and why is my eddie bear taking dis out awn wittle me."

the white mask holes punched for the eyes mouth and nose. eddie had almost fainted when bill had scared him earlier, eddie had to take a few puffs of his aspirator because he was so terrified.

bill then gave it to him as a gift. a disturbing and creepy gift.

"it's alright, this morning i almost fainted when bill scared me." eddie looked down at it. "it's pretty scary."

"i only screamed because you did," richie cleared his throat. "it's not scary."

eddie laughed. sure, richie held his hands up in defence and screamed like a girl because he was scared.

it was cute.

are all boys like this?

why does eddie find richie different?

"i can tell what you're thinking you little sewer rat."

"what's so bad about being frightened? it's totally normal."

"oh ed's, didn't cha notice ai ain't normal?" he switched his voice out for his irish cop voice again.

eddie rolled his eyes "oh yeah, i've noticed."

"wow, i am pained." richie clutched his chest. "go to sleep before you hurt my heart even more."

today, eddie moved the blankets first to let richie sit in the bed. eddie was always nervous to let richie sit in the bed at first but he got used to it. it was comforting now.

holding hands, lying in the same bed.

closing his eyes and listening to richie.

"read to me."

richie looked over at eddie. "you crazy?"

"scary story."

"why would you want me to read you a scary story if you're tying to sleep?"

"it's okay," eddie shifted, leaning a little closer. "i don't get afraid from listening to scary stories."

eddie always thought that people were scarier than ghosts. his relatives always fought after eddies parents died.

eddie laughed softly and dropped his head on richies arm.

"you're scared? aren't you."

eddie looked up at richie and richie swallowed under his beautiful gaze.

"no way, ghosts don't scare me!"

eddie laughed. only werewolves.

"pish posh! your words are nonsense!" he slipped into a british accent.

richie sighed and looked away from eddie. "i know you'll get scared ed's," richie looked down at him now, and eddie looked up at him softly. "plus, i don't even know any scary stories."

eddie pulled away from richie, leaving his arm cold and tingling. he pulled out a book from the drawer of his bedside table. his tiny hands wrapped around the huge book and he placed it on richies lap.

"my favourite book."

richie picked the heavy book up and slowly began to read.

"mike writes in his diary that he believes that derry is haunted. strange things happen in derry, violent things, in cycles that seem to span twenty-five to twenty-seven years."

he sighed like he would die between reading. he didn't want to read it at all, eddie could tell, richie tozier, the tough basketball captain, the trashmouth with a thousand girls lusting over him, was scared to read eddie a bed time story.

"however, mike has gotten a few people to speak and has learned about voices coming from drains, murders that were allowed to take place in town, and hate crimes that seemed to come out of the blue."

richie started to laugh nervously. "this shit is creepy, why don't they just leave that town? if i saw that stupid clown i'd be out of there in a heartbeat."

richie stayed still with his mouth closed. "i wouldn't want to end up like adrian mellon."

eddie studied richies face carefully. richies breath was a bit stiff, like he was holding something back.

"are you okay?"

richie grabbed eddies hand so hesitantly eddie worries. "i'll hold your hand. let's go to sleep."

richies heart pounded. he didn't want to end up as adrian mellon at all.

eddie reached for richies shoulder and touched it softly. richie jumped before leaning into the touch.

"don't fool around, go to sleep." richie swallowed again.

"one more story."

"no, i'll read you something else. nothing scary."

richie slides eddies hand off his shoulder but his touch lingered.

richie pouted. "don't treat me like a child, ed's."

richie hit eddies forehead with his own. his hair tickled eddies forehead softly.

eddie thought richie looked cute, even though he was trying to scold him.

"once upon a time there was a princess and a frog."

as eddie went to sleep, he had to listen to richie tell him about
