Chapter 5

"Wow....I don't know what to say.." My mum said bluntly, neither of my parents were leading me to any expression at all.

"Congratulations Darling" Dad said, with one of those huge proud father smiles plastered on his face.

Ash clutched my hand underneath the table and my initial thought was to stop him- but I let it pass, I could do with his comfort.

"Ashton, I mean Alpha..Would you give us a minute?" My Mum asked, and Ash nodded and headed out of the room, damn.

As soon as Ash was out of sight, My mum raised her voice.

"Scarlett? When did you find out about this?" Asked Mum.

"Only Today! I'm still shocked to be honest!" I said, not caring if Ash heard me.

"Honey, You're mates with the Alpha, that's a pretty big deal; how do you know for sure?" Dad asked.

"It's hard to explain, but it felt as if suddenly I was attached to him permanently, Are you more pleased that I've found my mate or that I'm mates with the Alpha?"

My parents were silent, neither of them looked at me.

"So that's it huh? You are all happy that you're daughter is going to be the Luna and that you will live in the nice estate with all of my alpha family and law and we'll sip lattes whilst watching over our pack and loving life- Well No, News Flash, I don't want that!" With Anger pulsing up and down my body I ran upstairs.

"I think you need to leave" I told Ash with a lump in my throat.

"Scar-" He started
"Ash, it will be best for all of us if you just leave"

He didn't say anything and I barely heard the door close as I slammed my own, tightened the lock and cried into my pillow.

I'm not this kind of person, I don't want a family, I want to travel the world, I want to live my life without having to constantly be responsible for this pack. Why Me? Why not some other popular girl who everyone likes and who's dream is to be the Luna.

About an hour later, I heard a knock.

"Lil' Scar?" I heard my brother's voice and a smile lit up my face.

My Brother, Hayes; Lives an hour away from where we live- he found a career in Football for Wolves, and although he still remains part of our pack, he visits every month.

I put my arms around his neck and finished crying a little into his neck.

"I heard, Mum told me everything" he said softly.

"What do you think?" I looked up.

"I think that it's great that you've found your mate, and I think Ash is a great guy- could've done a lot worse Scar" Hayes' reassuring comments paused my tears.

"Hayes, I-"
"You what Scar?"
"I don't want to be his mate, he's the alpha, I'm not cut out for leading a pack"
"Scar, he's going to help you through this whole thing. I remember when I met Alisha, I didn't want anything to do with her, but because their you're mate, you'd do anything for them."

"But I don't want to love him Hayes"
"I know Scar, but it's going to work out"
I cried into his shoulder a little more.
"Yeah, that's what they all say."
