Love Between Two Worlds

Chapter 2 (Tanner)

You hear the roar of the crowd from backstage.

"2 minutes 'til we start." TJ yells.

Your heart pumps so hard, you're surprised that the others can't hear it. You grab your water bottle and take a big gulp out of it.

You stand, jump up and down a few times, and line up between Zac and Ammon. The music starts and you all run into stage and begin to sing and dance to the first song: Best Days.

After the song is over, you guys begin to talk about yourselves. You search through the crowd and see everyone's eyes staring longingly at the other boys. You go to the back of the stage, grab your water bottle, and begin to drink again.

While drinking, you search through the crowd and see the most beautiful girl ever. You choke on the water and spit a little on the stage. Everyone in the crowd begins to laugh at you, and you begin to feel your cheeks get warmer.

You look back at the girl with beautiful, glossy hair with big, brown eyes and notice she is laughing at you too. She has a black and white striped shirt on with dark blue jeans.

"What a joke I am," you think.

"Tanner, are you okay?" Patch asks after he finishes laughing.

"I'm fine. Let's get on with the show. Everyone stops laughing and you move on to the next song. Throughout the whole concert, you can't seem to take your eyes off of her. You smile after staring at her for a while.

After the concert ends, you and the other boys line up to sign autographs, you see her get closer and closer to you. Once she arrives, you try to speak but you can't.

As she walks right in front of you, you realize she can probably see you blushing. She asks you, only you, for a hug and you spread a gigantic smile on your face. You hug for a while, not wanting to let go.

Ammon taps you on the shoulder and you let go. The beautiful girl moves down the line and you realize you don't even know her name. You try to talk to her, but again nothing comes out of your mouth.

You see her walk away with a group of girls and you bow your head. After everyone finished hugging and taking pictures, you and the boys climb into a car and head home.

When you arrive at home, you collapse on the couch and fill your head with regrets.

"Why didn't you just talk to her? Or compliment her? Now you're never going to see her again." You think.

Ammon sits next to you and says, "Did you see that one shy girl with the brown eyes, brown hair, and striped shirt? She was totally staring at me the whole time."

You laugh and respond, "That's awesome." Not knowing he was talking about the girl you were staring at.

"Hey," TJ tarts as he walks over to you and Ammon. "Do you guys want to take a Lagoon day tomorrow?"

"That sounds awesome!" Zac says, collapsing on the floor.

The other boys carry on the conversation, but you can't stop thinking of the beautiful girl you saw at the concert.

"I hope she will come to the next concert. I'll ask the producers if they could play serenade and I can make my move then." You think.

You start to hum the tune of I Think I'm in Love (by Beyond 5) and the rest of the boys start to hum the harmonies. You all start singing the entire song and begin to do lousy dance moves. After you finish, you all laugh and collapse again.

"I can't wait to take a break at Lagoon tomorrow." TJ says, panting.

"Yeah, me too." You agree, closing your eyes. Soon after, you drift into a deep sleep.

Clouds of smoke surround you and you realize you're on the stage, in front of a gigantic crowd. But something was wrong. The other boys weren't there. It was only you.

Your heart climbs up your throat and you gulp down your fear. You've had stage fright since you were twelve years old, but you haven't told the boys yet because you're scared of what they will think.

The music for Serenade comes on and you try to sing, but nothing comes out. You try harder, but like before, nothing comes out. That's when you find the girl in the striped shirt sitting right in front with a disappointed look on her face.

She says something to her friends, and begins to leave. You try to shout to her, but nothing comes out. Finally, you yell the word "stop" and she stops, looking towards you.

She shakes her head and begins to walk away again. You try to shout at her again, but nothing comes out. Your eyes drift to see the boys in the crowd, yelling at you.

They obviously are angry at you for not singing. You try to explain to them, but you cannot speak. The crowd begins to boo at you. The sound gets louder and louder and louder.

You immediately wake up in a cold sweat while Zac stands above you, trying to shake you awake.

"Hey, man. You okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine." You answer, wiping the sweat off your face.

"It's Lagoon day today. You up to going?" Patch asks.

"Yeah, of course." You answer.

"Alright, let's drive to the train station." TJ says.

"Why can't we just drive there?" You ask, confused.

"I need the car today," Russ, the producer says as he walks in. "I'll drop you guys off at the train station, but you'll have to find your own way home."
