Is it wrong to hope, to look for the light,
When all around you there's darkness, pain and fright,
To dream of a day when you feel warm inside,
Lying in someone's arms with nothing to hide,
When you can look at all of yourself and smile,
When no memory plagues you or haunts you till you cry,
Can there be a future where love is thine,
When the horrid days are history,
And love's no longer a mystery,
And the people close to you are warm and gentle and kind,
Or... is the hope just another a pretty lie,
If hope is wrong, I don't want to be right
