Silver held his wound tightly in a vain attempt to stop the never-ending stream of blood from his stomach. The bitter feeling of the cold meat locker nipped at Silvers weak skin.
Never thought this is how it'd end. Alone in a damn meat locker... Silver thought.
Silver looked directly up at the white bright light that swayed impatiently from the ceiling. He is to slip in and out of conciseness. However, what awoke his never-ending loss of sanity, was his cracked radio that laid in a wet puddle of blood across the room. The sounds of his teammates, and fellow soldiers could be heard from across the room. Whatever was out there, was tearing them to shreds. The painful sound of cries, shrieks, and firearms flooded Silver's ears, as he listened to his team get murdered. Silver knew he would soon join them, as he couldn't stop the blood from pouring out of his stomach.
Unable to swallow the fact that he had failed his country, Silver's eyes began to be pricked by tears. Everything he had ever done in his life, led up to this moment, and he failed. He failed his friends, his country, and most importantly, his family. Failing to fight the urge back, his eyes began to release tears that splashed onto his bloody pants. Knowing that there was no way out of his fate, he let go of his wound, and forcefully clamped his injured hands over his weak ears. For what felt like hours, he sat waiting for the radio to fall silent. Against his desires for silence, the radio never stopped transmitting the cracking of his friends' skulls.
Laying in his blood and tears, Silver accepted what God had planned for him, and painfully closed his eyes...
