Frank yelled in horror.

"LUCINDA!"

He tried his best to get away from his captor, to get to Lucinda, but he wasn't strong enough.

Arthur Wild set down the gun onto his desk, and stepped over Lucinda's body.

"You see, kid? Now your zombie is dead, and it's your fault. You should learn, kid. You don't fight the upper power. You don't fight the strong man. you don't fight the-"

He was interrupted, because suddenly, there was a swishing sound that resonated through the air, and Arthur Wild fell to the ground, and his head dropped beside his knees.

Lucinda stood behind Arthur Wild, holding the decorative blood stained mounted axe, her face sprayed with blood, her eyes cold and steely.

She raised her eyes to the ten men who had once been drones for Arthur Wild.

"Get outta here." She said, her voice murderous.

The men looked at each other. They had no one to command them. No one to tell them what to do.

No one to rule them.

They had their guns, but what was the reason to use them, now that they had no orders?

They did the most rational thing that came to mind.

They ran, forgetting about their prisoners, forgetting about their boss, forgetting about each other.

When they ran, they let go of Alexander, Janice, and Frank.

Frank slowly walked towards Lucinda, who clutched the axe so tightly, it was like her life depended on it.

She looked up at him, and slowly dropped the axe.

She looked down, and then up at him, and raised her hand up to him, offering to take his hand.

For a moment, Frank looked at her hand, contemplating.

And then, he realized.

He had been selfish.

He had hurt Lucinda. HE had locked her away.

He had hurt her.

And he blamed her for wanting freedom?

He was no better than the now deceased Arthur Wild.

And he looked to Alexander.

He took Alexander's hand, and placed it in Lucinda's.

And he stepped back.

Lucinda looked into Alexanders brown eyes, and smiled.

He smiled at her.

Frank turned to Janice.

She smiled at him, and he at her.

And he wrapped his arms around Janice, and she wrapped her arms around him.

And for once, with everyone in that room, there was peace.

"Lucinda Everwright" Called the Dean of the university. Lucinda walked forward, and took her diploma, smiling at the audience, where Frank, Janice and Alexander sat, proud of their Lucinda.

*************************

Lucinda and Alexander sat together, watching Janice walk down the Aisle in her pearl white wedding dress, to Frank, a smile brighter than the lights of heaven on her beautiful face.

**************************

Lucinda stared in awe as Alexander got down on one knee, offering to her the beautiful golden ring.

**************************

Lucinda walked down the aisle, in her creamy wedding  gown, down to Alexander, who smiled at her, his smile gleaming.

Janice and Frank sat in the aisle seats, holding hands, three children sitting around them.

**************************

Lucinda reached down, grabbing the hand of the three year old girl who smiled up at her and said, "Mommy, when can we see Grandpa Frank and Grandma Janice again?"

**************************

Frank and Janice sat on the porch, watching their grandkids play in the golden sunlight, while Lucinda and Alexander sang together, as Alexander played the guitar.

They had fought Arthur Wild.

They had drove countless miles for Lucinda.

They had braved all the troubles of the world.

They had made it.

And life, in that one moment of golden sunshine, emerald grass and blue skies, was perfect.

Life was perfect.

All was well.
