FROWNING, Mackenzie turned off her phone. Why was Hayden posting old pictures of them? One post would definitely not make up for three years of torture. The weekend was Mackenzie's favorite part of the week. She could be alone, without her friends, without them knowing her truest desires- to be free from them.

It was the morning, so she went downstairs with a craving for cereal. As she began pouring her cereal into the bright blue bowl in front of her, she was interrupted by a sound.

"Mom? What are you still doing here?" Kenzie turned around, seeing the beautiful blonde woman in front of her. Melissa, Kenzie's mom, was a very prominent lawyer for many officials, so it was very rare for her to spend the mornings at home with her daughter.

"I'm off today sweetie," Kenzie's mom said, brushing through Kenzie's wavy brown hair. "Alone on the weekend again?" Her mom raised her eyebrows in Kenzie's direction.

"You make it sound like I don't have friends," Kenzie laughed.

"No you do of course, but you never seem to hang out with them aside from school. Besides the, uh, get togethers." Melissa said. Kenzie widened her eyes, knowing exactly what her mom was referring to.

"Well I'm going to buy more fruit for the house, let me know if you need anything," Melissa said smiling at her daughter. Kenzie heard Melissa's footsteps walk out the door, followed by a quick last message.

"Oh Mackenzie, someone's waiting here for you!" Her mom yelled. Kenzie's heart sunk. It was probably one of her friends here to swoop her away to some drunk party that her mom knew about. This was her free weekend. Kenzie squinted her eyes at the unfamiliar car parked in front of her house. Then she saw. The dirty blonde hair. The green eyes. The innocent smile.

It was Johnny.
